Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Accurately read and measure student performance in Spanish and French based against a grading rubric.
- Collaboratively work with the Lead for the course(s) to provide the student with constructive, supportive and concise feedback.
- Complete grading rubrics and leave detailed feedback and comments for the learner.
- Check student submissions for plagiarism and for grammar.
- Provide in-context feedback and scoring using the Sophia-provided rubric.
- Participate in calibration efforts to ensure consistency of quality for our learners.
Job Skills:
- Subject matter competency in Spanish and French.
- Prioritization and time management skills.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
- Exhibits sound judgment in making decisions.
- Ability to keep accurate records.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Must have strong computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
Work Experience:
- Current or prior HS or Post-secondary teaching experience in Spanish and French required.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution is required; Master’s degree is preferred.
Other:
- Access information using a computer.
- Effectively communicate, both up and down the management chain.
- Effectively cope with stressful situations.
- Strong mental acuity.
- Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this job.
- Other essential functions and marginal job functions are subject to modification

$20/hr is the expected starting pay for this position. This offer is based on current budgetary guidelines and the additional factors outlined below.
