Support Manager, Cargo Readiness

Summary Description

The Support Manager, Cargo Readiness is responsible for assisting of the management of MEBA functions as well as supporting the management duties assigned to the Cargo Readiness Manager in Nashville. The support manager will supervise daily activities required to progress export containers through the APL/CMA networks in the Americas. Duties entail the tactical planning, problem resolution, supervision of projections and downloads, push/pull tracking, system reconciliation, dwell process, and the regulatory tracking/communication of export containers.

Accountabilities

  • Monitor Reps activity to ensure container incidents, special customer issues and import/export idles shipments are being resolved in a timely manner. Address grievances with the workforce to solve issues.
  • Manage performance of team through annual performance evaluations and corrective action.
  • Completing projects timely
  • Manage and train MEBA staff
  • Proactively seek cargo readiness solutions and resolving issues for export loads at water port terminals.
  • Maintain accurate information in internal systems (LARA, etc)
  • Identify process cost and service improvements
  • Ensuring timeliness of vessel cleanups
  • Monitor Dwelling Cargo
  • Miscellaneous related duties or projects as assigned

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business management or other related field. Equivalent work experience may be substituted.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of progressive network and/or terminal operations experience. Experience managing a unionized workforce preferred
  • Strong PC skills
  • Deadline focused
  • Fluent English
