Job Description

Responsibilities:


* Responsible for the design generation of power supplies from inception to final product
* Responsible for working on 4 or more designs on average
* Design from documentation supplied by customers and/or internal specifications
* Responsible for directing Technicians and Assemblers as to Engineering
* Provide technical support and assistance for engineering staff
* Provide technical support to less senior technical staff
* Interface with Sales/Marketing and customers as required
* Responsible for generating preliminary documentation for fabrication of prototype models which may include fabricating, testing, troubleshooting and repairing analog and digital/analog circuits
* Testing will include subjecting product model with either actual or prototype breadboard to environmental conditions to establish operational stability, reliability and conformity to design
* Prototyping will also include recommending and designing fixtures, tooling and equipment for the manufacture of product within manufacturing
* Maintain necessary records, files and reports
* Make effective and efficient use of all resources including but not limited to inventory materials, supplies, tools and tolling, equipment, technicians etc.
* Practice good housekeeping in own area
* Properly maintain equipment to include reporting uncalibrated equipment
* Ability to generate instructional information for the manufacturing of product being transferred from engineering to manufacturing
* Interface with other departments, vendors and manufacturing
* Follow established company rules and regulations
* Follow ISO policy and procedures throughout all work performed
* Consult supervisor when unusual conditions exist and or safety issues arise
* Perform other related duties as required

Qualifications:


Education: 4 year college degree in electronics
Experience: 6 years electronics or equivalent experience in design of Power Conversion Circuits
Knowledge of digital control design beneficial
Must be completely familiar with the following:
• Advanced analog design techniques including magnetic design and theory
• Power supply layout and packaging including verification of cad generated documentation
• Power applications, and interpretation of system power specification
• Component engineering including stress factor analysis
• Manufacturing techniques related to power supply manufacture
Skills: Perform work using oscilloscopes, voltage meters, electronic loads, bench top power supplies, variacs, test fixtures, environmental ovens and other electronic associated equipment
Knowledge of digital design related to power control design
Must be capable of making logical sequential steps in performance of work and require minimum of supervision and direction
