Job Description

WIN Waste Innovations is looking for a Senior Systems Administrator/Senior System Engineer to support our corporate, facilities, and cloud computer infrastructure. This person will be a senior level resource, with significant experience supporting, designing, and strategizing the corporate infrastructure and enterprise applications. Working both independently and on a team, this position will apply in-depth, senior level knowledge, industry standard concepts, principles, and other Systems Administration skills. Wide latitude in decision making to interpret unclear or inadequate guidelines. This role will lead in the planning of and respond to service outages and infrastructure problems & project tasks.

Responsibilities:

  • Duties will include adding/deleting users, setting up/changing workstations/servers, system backups and recovery, disaster recovery support, data archiving, security, and implementing infrastructure services.
  • Follows established policy and recommends process changes for IT policies that would ensure security and integrity or lead to increased efficiency for users, applications, operating systems management, etc.
  • Assist in the evaluation and acquisition of new technologies and products.
  • Makes recommendations for upgrades to hardware and software based on existing operations, pending needs and available budget.
  • Advises on new applications solutions, development, and implementation.
  • Provide technical support for the client systems and resolve issues for all applications utilized by the staff, including the upgrading of operating systems to support new applications.
  • Frequently has team leadership responsibilities and provides training to other IT professionals.
  • Document day-to-day operations procedures and protocols associated with hardware and operation system environments, as well as reviews system monitoring and logging of abnormalities.
  • Ensure security and integrity of operating system to increased efficiency for users, applications, operating systems management, etc. Assists in the evaluation of new technologies and products.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Maintain positive work environment by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with customers, clients, vendors, co-workers and management.

Preferred candidates will have experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • On-Prem & Azure Active Directory analysis, design, management, and troubleshooting
  • Group policy object analysis, management, testing, and troubleshooting
  • Enterprise data backup concepts, job monitoring, and job scheduling
  • Understanding of Automation and Orchestration.
  • General server infrastructure and cybersecurity health monitoring & alerting
  • Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure administration, design, implementation, and monitoring
  • Network firewall concepts, rule concepts, and related connectivity troubleshooting
  • Script writing, testing, and maintenance using PowerShell, VBScript, BAT file, or similar
  • Server infrastructure security analysis, implementation, reporting, troubleshooting, and validation
  • Windows OS administration using the command line
  • General concepts and related troubleshooting of services such as DHCP, DNS, SFTP, and File and Print sharing over a network
  • Create Virtual Machines, Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), and use Virtual storage and Cloud services
  • Deploy applications on public and private cloud platforms.
  • Ability to travel to company facilities
  • Implement Infrastructure-as-Code (IAC) and deployment patterns using ADO, GitOps or Terraform.

Education:

  • Bachelors in information technology, Computer Science, Systems Administration, Computer Engineering or a related field.

Experience:

  • Four (4) years of experience with proficient knowledge of at least two (2) operating systems, such as: Windows and Linux systems.
  • Experience working with public cloud services such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Microsoft Azure is preferred.
  • Related experience may be substituted for education.
