Job Description
Senior Product Design Engineer, New Castle, DE:
Lead mechanical architecture & provide Design for Manufacturability (DFM) guidance for injection-molded plastic components to ensure efficient/scalable production; Review/evaluate tooling design & mold performance/flow analyses, including fill patterns, warpage, pressure distribution & cavity balance; Develop optimized product structures using Design for Assembly (DFA) & Design for Cost (DFC) methodologies, balancing tooling complexity, production scalability, lifecycle durability & supply chain constraints; Conduct advanced engineering analyses & failure mode risk assessments to predict product performance & reduce variability; Define material selection strategies & validate material performance across plastic materials, considering mechanical properties, environmental exposure, thermal performance & regulatory compliance; Design/oversee product verification/validation plans, including UL, environmental, & reliability testing to comply with applicable safety/quality/certification standards; Develop engineering documentation to support production readiness/regulatory submissions. Req: Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering/Industrial Design or a related field. Minimum 1-year experience, including plastic injection-molded product development/design. In-depth knowledge of DFM, DFA & DFC principles. Strong ability to perform advanced engineering analyses, including Finite Element Analysis (FEA), tolerance stack-up modeling, statistical variation analysis & Design of Experiments (DoE). Expertise in SolidWorks/ANSYS Simulation/KeyShot/Rhino/3D Printing. Salary: $91,770/year. Apply: [email protected]
