Salary: $119,725 - 144,185 per year
Requirements:- We need 8+ years of software engineering experience delivering production web applications.
- You should bring deep expertise in modern JavaScript/TypeScript and a major frontend framework, with React preferred.
- We value familiarity with React, Material-UI, and Bootstrap utilities.
- You should have strong command of HTML, CSS, responsive design, and web accessibility standards (WCAG).
- We look for experience with component libraries, design systems, and modern state management.
- You should have experience integrating REST APIs and working with real-time browser data such as WebSockets or SSE.
- We need solid experience with frontend testing frameworks, release workflows, and progressive deployment approaches such as shadow mode and canary releases.
- You should have experience with frontend monitoring, error tracking, and web performance optimization.
- Experience building and scaling applications in cloud environments, preferably AWS, is important.
- You should have a hands-on engineering mindset with the ability to work through architecture, debugging, and critical technical decisions.
- Experience in high-growth or scaling environments is preferred.
- Experience partnering with backend and data science teams to present model outputs in user-facing products is valued.
- We want comfort using AI-assisted or agentic development tools to improve productivity and reduce errors.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across functions are required.
- Experience with data visualization, or background in financial services, lending, or fraud detection, is a plus.
- A Bachelors or Masters degree is preferred.
- This is an in-person role, and we require the ability to commute to San Diego, CA 92101 daily.
- We design, build, and maintain customer-facing web applications and user interfaces for our fraud and risk decisioning products, owning their reliability and production performance.
- We create responsive, accessible, and high-performing interfaces that turn complex risk signals and model outputs into clear workflows and visualizations.
- We support QA by improving release practices, including automated frontend testing, regression coverage, and safer deployment methods.
- We maintain a high standard for code quality and accountability, including code review and technical guidance for peers.
- We implement frontend monitoring, error tracking, and real-user performance observability to catch and resolve issues early.
- We contribute to frontend architecture decisions covering component systems, state management, and build tooling.
- We improve web performance and API response handling to reduce load times and enhance perceived responsiveness.
- We partner with backend engineering and Data Science to surface real-time machine learning outputs in the interface.
- We support live troubleshooting of critical production incidents.
- We help strengthen engineering practices across CI/CD, incident response, and operational excellence.
- We use modern AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity, testing depth, and engineering quality.
- We collaborate with Product, Design, and Customer teams to configure and deliver new customer integrations.
