Title: Data Center Quality Engineer
Location: On-site Dalton GA (relocation assistance provided)
Schedule: Full-Time, Standard Business Hours
Employment Type: 18 Month Contract with the possibility to extend up to 3 years or convert)
Compensation: $50-$70/hour
Overview
A rapidly growing cloud infrastructure and high-performance computing organization is seeking a Data Center Quality Engineer to support one of the largest GPU-powered data center environments in the industry. This is a highly visible, hands-on role focused on building and scaling operational quality programs that improve hardware reliability, process consistency, and operational excellence across multiple sites.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys creating structure in fast-paced environments and can build quality systems from the ground up. The successful candidate will partner closely with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Inventory teams to develop scalable quality processes, drive root cause investigations, manage hardware quality issues, and establish metrics that improve overall performance and reliability.
The emphasis is not on traditional inspection activities alone, but on creating sustainable quality frameworks that can be replicated across future data center deployments.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of experience in Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Quality, Supplier Quality, or Hardware Quality.
- Experience supporting data centers, server hardware, electronics manufacturing, or large-scale hardware operations.
- Knowledge of QMS, ISO 9001 principles, CAPA, change control, and document control.
- Experience with root cause analysis, corrective actions, and quality problem-solving tools.
- Familiarity with quality metrics, inspections, statistical analysis, and reporting tools.
Plusses
- Experience with servers, GPUs, networking equipment, HPC infrastructure, or data center deployments.
- Lean, Six Sigma, ASQ, or related quality certifications.
- Experience with PFMEA, Control Plans, and audit programs.
- Build and scale quality systems, SOPs, and operational processes across data center environments.
- Lead root cause investigations and corrective actions using methodologies such as 8D, 5 Why, and Fishbone Analysis.
- Manage nonconforming hardware, including inspections, quarantines, RMAs, and disposition activities.
- Partner with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Inventory teams to resolve quality issues and improve reliability.
- Track quality metrics, analyze trends, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Conduct audits and maintain QMS documentation, work instructions, and training records.
