Position Overview
The Data Engineer is responsible for building, maintaining, and supporting our data pipelines and products. The ideal candidate is an experienced data engineer with a solid understanding of design principles and expertise in modern data platform tools and technologies, most notably Python, Spark, and Microsoft Fabric. They must be self-directed and comfortable supporting the needs of multiple teams, systems, and products.
Responsibilities
Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture.
Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements.
Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.
Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL, Python, Spark, Microsoft Fabric, and Azure technologies.
Build analytics tools that utilize the data pipeline to provide actionable insights into operational efficiency and other key business performance metrics.
Keep our data separated and secure.
Create data tools for analysts that assist them in building and optimizing our product into an innovative industry leader.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Some data engineering experience
Some experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP), especially cloud data technologies like storage, streaming, databases, data lakes, etc.
Some experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse, or Databricks
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
