Are you interested in learning how employee benefits and workplace wellness programs support a large public sector workforce? The City of Chesapeake is seeking a motivated and detail oriented Human Resources Intern to join the Employee Benefits and Wellness Division. This internship provides hands on experience in benefits administration, employee wellness initiatives, customer service, and human resources operations while working alongside experienced HR professionals.This is an excellent opportunity for students pursuing careers in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, Health Promotion, or related fields.
What You'll Do

Responsibilities may include:
  • Assist with employee benefits enrollment and administrative processes.
  • Help organize and promote employee wellness programs, events, and challenges.
  • Assist with preparing informational materials, presentations, and employee communications.
  • Provide excellent customer service by responding to routine employee inquiries and directing questions to the appropriate staff.
  • Help maintain confidential HR records and electronic files.
  • Assist with data entry, reporting, and special projects.
  • Support benefits and wellness staff with day to day administrative tasks.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
