Electronics Design Engineer

Location: Hampton, VA (Onsite)

Employment Type: Full-Time

Salary: $85,000–$140,000 DOE

Position Overview

Seeking an experienced Electronics Design Engineer to support advanced aerospace and engineering programs. This role is responsible for the design, development, integration, testing, and documentation of electronic systems used in mission-critical applications. The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer who thrives in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment and can support projects from concept through deployment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop analog, digital, mixed-signal, and power electronic circuits.
  • Develop PCB designs using Altium Designer or similar tools.
  • Perform circuit simulation using SPICE/PSpice or equivalent software.
  • Integrate cameras, sensors, lasers, data storage, and computational systems into electronic designs.
  • Support hardware assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and system integration.
  • Prepare technical documentation including schematics, BOMs, and test procedures.
  • Collaborate with software, FPGA, mechanical, and systems engineering teams.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field.
  • 3+ years of electronic hardware design experience.
  • Experience with circuit design, PCB development, testing, and integration.
  • Familiarity with Altium Designer, SPICE/PSpice, or similar engineering tools.
  • Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with high-speed digital, mixed-signal, and power electronics design.
  • Knowledge of EMI/EMC, signal integrity, and PCB fabrication processes.
  • Experience integrating sensors, cameras, LiDAR, or scientific instrumentation.
  • Background supporting aerospace, defense, or other highly regulated technical environments.
  • Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other electronic test equipment.
Ideal CandidateA self-starter with strong hardware design fundamentals, hands-on engineering experience, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Experience supporting complex electronics development projects is highly desirable.
