Northrop Grumman Missions Systems is seeking an experienced Mixed Signal Design Engineer to act as a Digital Receiver /Exciter Lead.  The qualified candidate will work with a diverse and talented team of engineers developing innovative and cost-effective systems that support a broad range of products and business areas across the lifecycle of a program.  Applicants should possess the ability to communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches and findings.
What you'll get to do:
Responsibilities may include development of antenna architectures, receiver / exciter architectures, requirements generation/flow down; subsystem analysis including hardware from RF to digits, performance modeling, support for performance testing, requirements verification, and more.  Work is performed without appreciable direction and exercising considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignments, including:
Job Responsibilities:

• Architect a Digital Receiver/Exciter system to meet our end goal and define interim steps to achieve it.
• Interface between classified and unclassified teams to keep the development efforts aligned.
• Lead the overall design and development effort.
• Interface with the chief engineers on other programs to ensure that mutual benefit without duplication of effort.
• Attend design reviews and weekly meetings, contributing experience and insight to ensure success on experiments.
• Visit and coordinate with team members who work at other sites.
• Deliver efficient and effective communication of design and architecture to hardware and software design engineers.
• Mentor and engineers and other staff members.
Basic Qualifications: 

• Must have a Bachelors Degree in Engineering or related discipline with 16 years of experience in the areas described in the job description or 14 years of experience with a Masters Degree and/or 12 years of experience with a Ph. D. An additional 4 years of experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Experience designing, developing and/or testing radio frequency (RF) and/or microwave antenna systems and/or related RF hardware.
• Significant knowledge of Receiver/Exciter technology.
• Experience with Digital Controls.
• Active Interim Secret or higher clearance.
In addition, this candidate should have demonstrated technical ability/leadership and expertise in one or more of the following areas:

• Active electronically scanned arrays (AESAs)
• Highly integrated subsystems including antenna hardware
• Reflectors, Reflect Arrays, Digital Beam Forming
• Antenna/RF Performance Analysis
• Computational Electromagnetics, Statistics
• Antenna or Subsystem Control Design
• Antenna Measurements and Data Reduction
• Antenna range integration, test, and system integration
• Subsystem requirements (hardware and software) derivation, flow-down, and configuration
• Comfortable creating test support applications and tools using MATLAB, python, etc.
• Experience with Atlassian Tool Suite, Git
Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience using MATLAB.
• Experience with RF Subsystems.
This RF Engineer Microwave Design position is contingent upon an active interim/Secret Clearance per business requirements to start.
Salary Range: $194,100 - $291,100
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
