JOB DESCRIPTION
Apex’s Solutions and Capabilities team is seeking a results-oriented Security & Risk Solution Leader to drive revenue growth, expand market presence, and oversee delivery of high‑impact cybersecurity solutions across cloud, data protection, application security, DevSecOps, and security operations domains. This role partners closely with cross-functional teams to identify new business opportunities, shape solution offerings, and ensure successful execution of complex cybersecurity engagements.
As the Chief Solutions Leader, you will serve as the primary client-facing expert for Apex’s Security & Risk portfolio, spanning sales opportunities solutioning within cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP), data security, AI/ML security, DevSecOps, application security, and security operations. You will help build and mature our Security & Risk Practice through thought leadership, solution innovation, sales enablement, and team mentorship. You will be responsible for achieving revenue targets, positioning Apex as a market leader in cybersecurity services, and advising internal teams on practice growth strategies.
Solution Development & Sales Enablement
· Position Apex’s Security & Risk solution capabilities to win in the market. Advise on new services and offerings aligned with market needs and Apex’s strategic vision.
· Translate client needs into actionable cybersecurity requirements and map them to technical architectures and solution roadmaps.
· Build execution toolkits, methodologies, and reusable delivery templates to support scalable, repeatable project execution.
· Partner with leadership and marketing to develop and maintain solution collateral, sales enablement materials, and go‑to‑market content.
· Stay current on emerging cybersecurity trends such as AI/ML security, zero trust, cloud-native security, DevSecOps, threat detection, and more—to guide sales strategies and build client trust.
· Represent Apex as a thought leader through industry events, publications, webinars, and community engagement.
Solution Sales
· Serve as a key advisor in bid and proposal efforts, including solution design, pricing, staffing models, and effort estimation.
· Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor across cybersecurity domains.
· Maintain a robust pipeline of qualified Security & Risk opportunities and manage the sales cycle in partnership with account teams from qualification through close and transition to delivery.
· Remove sales obstacles through creative, adaptive problem-solving.
· Develop and implement tailored cybersecurity solutions that address client challenges and deliver measurable business outcomes.
Solution Delivery
· Collaborate with clients and internal teams to ensure proper staffing, resource planning, and delivery excellence.
· Mentor and coach internal teams, provide performance feedback, and support talent development to strengthen Apex’s cybersecurity practice.
· Provide leadership and oversight for complex cybersecurity implementations, including cloud security architecture, data protection programs, DevSecOps integration, application security modernization, and security operations enhancements.
· Act as a subject matter expert during engagements, conducting assessments, solution demonstrations, architecture reviews, and implementation guidance.
· Lead cybersecurity discovery workshops, guiding clients through ideation, value mapping, technical feasibility assessments, and roadmap development across cloud, data, application, and operational security.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or related field (Master’s preferred).
· 10+ years of experience delivering cybersecurity solutions in a large enterprise or consulting environment, with strong experience in cloud security, data protection, DevSecOps, application security, and/or security operations.
· 5+ years in a client-facing professional services or consulting role; experience in pre-sales, solution design, and sales enablement strongly preferred.
· Deep expertise across multiple cybersecurity domains, such as:
· Strong understanding of cloud-native security architectures, shared responsibility models, and modern security frameworks (NIST CSF, CIS, Zero Trust, MITRE ATT&CK).
· Experience designing and implementing security solutions using major cloud and cybersecurity platforms (e.g., AWS Security Hub, Azure Defender, GCP SCC, Prisma Cloud, Wiz, CrowdStrike, Splunk, Sentinel, Tenable, etc.).
· Proven track record of driving cybersecurity services sales and leading discovery, assessment, and architecture engagements with stakeholders from C‑suite to engineering teams.
· Exceptional communication and presentation skills with the ability to articulate complex cybersecurity concepts clearly and persuasively.
· Strong business acumen, analytical thinking, and strategic problem‑solving capabilities.
· Experience leading technical teams and mentoring cybersecurity engineers, architects, or analysts.
· Demonstrated thought leadership through speaking engagements, publications, or community involvement.
· Relevant certifications preferred (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CCSP, AWS/Azure/GCP Security, GIAC, CEH, OSCP, CCSK).
· Willingness to travel periodically and as needed for client engagements and business development activities.
