CAD Technician - CAD TechnicianLocation: North Reading, Massachusetts (Onsite)
COMPENSATION: $35 - $49 HOURLY
Role Overview
This individual will be responsible for creating and maintaining detailed floor layouts in AutoCAD across Concept, Firm, and Deployment design phases. The work requires a high level of precision, ensuring proper cell grid alignment, component spacing, and the resolution of physical interferences. The role also involves generating deployment deliverables for a global network of robotic sortable fulfillment centers.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and maintain detailed floor layouts in AutoCAD.
- Ensure proper cell grid alignment and component spacing.
- Resolve physical interferences such as columns, HVAC, expansion joints, and fire shutters.
- Comply with design checklists and Solutions naming conventions.
- Generate deployment deliverables.
- Interpret building shell composites and external references.
- Produce standardized drawing sets.
Education: Minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Drafting and Design.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of operating experience in CAD with the ability to work and manage layers. Minimum of 1 year of experience drawing in a warehouse, fulfillment center, or manufacturing environment.
Technical Skills: Basic knowledge of material handling and storage systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Conveyor design and layout experience.
- Mechanical or Industrial Engineering degree.
- Ability to communicate to various audiences.
- Ability to lead small groups.
