MRI Technologist - Full Time

Job Description

A leading healthcare client is seeking an experienced MRI Technologist to join their hospital team in Belpre, OH in a permanent full-time role. You will accurately interpret physicians' scanning instructions, prepare and position patients for MRI and MRA procedures, and expertly operate MRI scanners to create diagnostic images in compliance with ARRT, ASRT, and Ohio Department of Health rules and regulations.


Minimum Requirements:

  • Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification in Radiography or MRI.
  • MRI advanced level certification and state licensure as required by Ohio.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
  • Experience performing MRI and MRA procedures in a hospital setting. Rotation on MRI call including nights, holidays, and weekends required.
  • Ability to perform quality assurance procedures necessary to maintain ACR MRI accreditation.
  • Demonstrated competency transmitting images to PACS and scanning appropriate documentation.
  • Experience entering orders and verifying billing lists for accuracy on a daily basis.
  • Ability to maintain inventory and troubleshoot MRI scanner and associated equipment; coordinate with service engineers when necessary.
  • Strong interpersonal and basic clerical skills, including effective communication with patients and clinical staff.

Job Functions:

  • Perform MRI and MRA procedures utilizing knowledge of technology, body systems, and disease processes within the defined scope of practice.
  • Maintain inventory to avoid interruption in service and operate within budgetary guidelines.
  • Transmit images to PACS and scan appropriate documents.
  • Attend Diagnostic Imaging department meetings (attendance expectation: 75%, approximately 10 per year).
  • Perform QA necessary to maintain ACR MRI Accreditation.
  • Provide related duties such as patient transport, troubleshoot laser printers and MRI scanner issues, and contact service engineers when needed.
  • Enter orders correctly and verify billing lists for accuracy on weekdays.
  • Maintain compliance in RQI and assume other duties and responsibilities as necessary.
