Medical Renal Pathologist - Subspecialty Faculty Position
Job Description
The Department of Pathology at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center (UHCMC) and Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) School of Medicine is seeking an academic pathologist with expertise in Medical Renal Pathology.
Applicants should be board-certified in AP or AP/CP with fellowship training in GU pathology or equivalent experience and qualified for an unrestricted medical license in the State of Ohio. Both recent graduates and more experienced pathologists are encouraged to apply.
UHCMC receives over 700 medical renal pathology cases annually. The faculty
member will participate in the medical renal pathology service, a secondary
service (GU Pathology or other), the education of residents, fellows and medical
students, and weekly tumor boards in conjunction with Seidman Cancer
Center.
Involvement in clinical, translational or basic research is encouraged.
Opportunities to participate in established collaborative translational research
projects are numerous.
The 900+ bed UHCMC includes University Hospitals Seidman Cancer Center, University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital and University Hospitals MacDonald Women’s Hospital, all situated adjacent to CWRU.
The NCI-designated Case Comprehensive Cancer Center supports basic,
translational and clinical cancer research.
UHCMC is ranked as one of America’s 100 best hospitals. The Department of Pathology is in the top 13 11 nationally in NIH funding and has an annual total of ~ 100,000 surgical
specimens.
