




Pulmonx is seeking a results-driven Regional Business Director (RBD) to lead sales growth and market development in our West Region. This role focuses on building strong relationships with key healthcare stakeholders-including pulmonologists, thoracic surgeons, and hospital administrators-to expand adoption of Pulmonx products.
West Region Geography: California, Nevada, Arizona (must live within region)
Responsibilities and Capabilities:
Leadership and Team Management
- Identify, hire, train, develop, direct, motivate and retain talented sales professionals who are focused on market development to meet or exceed our specific sales and market objectives.
- Execute against the monthly, quarterly, and annual sales plan for Pulmonx products in the region by providing guidance to Territory Managers (TMs), Territory Account Managers (TAMs) and Therapy Awareness Specialists (TAS) in developing account strategy and priorities.
- Hold weekly one on one meetings with TMs, TAMs and TASes focusing on the metrics by role and ensuring compliance with Salesforce.
- Ensure a high level of activity with direct reports by setting expectations and holding the team accountable to them.
- Ensure Pulmonx field sales personnel are trained on the proper use of the Company's products and able to support physicians as appropriate during cases.
Field & Customer Engagement
- Engages administrative and C-Suite level stakeholders to drive Pulmonx's strategy with a focus on the systems in the West Region, growing system-wide revenue through programmatic integration of valves and the screening needed to develop a steady and growing pipeline of qualified patients.
- Provide regional field support through key account meetings to drive persuasion for strategic products with key system stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key thought leaders in the West Region and utilize these relationships to expand sales of Pulmonx products, conduct professional education, and provide input to new product development.
- Train physicians on the proper use the Company's products and support them as appropriate during cases. Ensure trained physicians complete training and their 45-day review.
- Support local meetings and conventions of key target societies or groups.
Business Operations & Compliance
- Oversee sales forecasting and expense budget management to ensure financial targets are met.
- Ensure the sales team adheres to Pulmonx policies and procedures and regulatory compliance in all activities.
- Provide market intelligence to senior management regarding pricing, reimbursement trends, competitive landscape, and customer training needs.
- Drive Salesforce adoption and completion of business plans by the field team.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university, or equivalent education and relevant working experience required
- 4+ years of documented management success in medical device sales.
- Demonstrated success in hiring, coaching, and managing high-performing sales teams.
- Experience developing and driving commercialization of new technology.
- Experience in supporting endoscopy cases and/or other operating room procedures and a demonstrated ability to work with interventionalists, clinicians and surgeons is required.
- Experience with interventional pulmonology is a plus.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- A passion for the customer, patient and product supported by strong relationships and closing skills
- Knowledge of target pulmonary intervention procedures and how to use professional education for training purposes is a plus.
- Strong work ethic, high energy/drive and personal integrity based on a strong value system.
- Mature, good business judgment skills, flexible, self-motivated, team oriented, charismatic, and strong leadership skills.
Compensation: Base + Variable compensation $265K at plan
Travel: 70%-80% travel required
