Do you have experience helping utilities develop a portfolio of programs for energy efficiency, demand response, or building electrification? Are you passionate about helping utilities achieve their decarbonization goals? We’re looking for a client-facing candidate with experience in providing actionable recommendations to utilities. If you have deep knowledge of the utility industry, experience with energy efficiency and demand-response programs, and excellent analytical and communication skills, we’d love to talk with you!

The product strategist role sets the direction and manages the entire product lifecycle for E Source customer energy solutions research services. To be successful in this role, you’ll need to be the face of ESource’s demand-side management (DSM) offerings by aligning our products and content to meet the needs of our utility clients. This is a unique opportunity to be at the center of a major energy industry transformation.

E Source provides predictive data science, research and advisory, and solution services to help utilities make decisions that benefit their customers, their bottom line, and our planet.

What you’ll do

• Set the annual research agenda and maintain the priorities for agile product delivery in a matrixed environment.
• Implement measures that improve product health using continuous improvement principals and key performance indicators (KPIs) to support product quality, user satisfaction, and alignment with business goals.
• Understand macro and micro industry trends and their impact on the product.
• Represent client needs in the creation of deliverables. Create and leverage user stories to clearly define user needs and expectations.
• Contribute to the team’s planned content and unplanned work by serving as a subject matter expert in writing and reviewing reports, presenting content and responding to on-demand research requests.
• Work with sales and marketing teams on go-to-market plans.
• Lead the agenda creation for large in-person events, host online webinars, and conduct client advisory calls in the customer energy solutions topical area.
• Visit clients at their offices and attend industry conferences as a speaker and product representative.

• Demonstrated expertise with the regulatory principals that govern energy-efficiency and demand-response programs.
• Knowledge about how utilities plan, design, implement, and evaluate DSM and electrification programs.
• Prior experience making recommendations to utilities about advancing their customer energy solutions portfolios.
• Exceptional writing, verbal, and analytical skills; E Source differentiates itself through our readable, clear, concise, and actionable reports and presentations.
• Experience with electric, gas, or water utility demand-side management programs.

The budgeted salary for this position is $90,000 to $120,000 USD + annual bonus up to 8%. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience.

This person can work 100% remote, but preference will be given for a hybrid schedule from our physical office located in Boulder, Colorado;
