WIN Waste Innovations is a waste management company committed to delivering essential waste management solutions to customers and communities supported by our team of 2,100 employees. WIN Waste Innovations is a vertically integrated business with a platform of 50 strategically located collection, transfer, and disposal assets. These include waste-to-energy facilities, transfer stations, ash monofills, landfills, and fleets of rail cars and collection vehicles. We process more than 11 million tons of waste annually, converting 6.7 million tons of waste into clean, renewable energy that powers 340,000 homes. We recycle more than 234,000 tons of plastic, paper, and metals from the waste stream.
The Manager of Energy Markets will participate in a wide range of energy-related markets including power, natural gas, renewable energy credits (RECs) as part of a dynamic team, performing analysis, strategy development, transaction execution and project work in the financial optimization of power generation assets. Duties include managing all interactions with regional ISOs, Optimization of REC Book, market analysis, margin forecasting, risk management functions and project work. The successful candidate will participate in and eventually take the lead in negotiations as part of the team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
* The position requires enthusiasm for energy markets, strategic thinking backed by sound logic and analysis, and ability to handle multiple deadlines and internal guidelines simultaneously. Market facing activities will require collaborative effort with many internal teams, including operations, legal, finance and accounting. Working well in a team is a must.
* Drive asset optimization process and reporting
* Manage all interactions with ISOs
* Optimize RECs Book
* Perform market analysis, developing transactional strategies
* Participate in daily market meetings
* Participate in the budget process
* Support decision making regarding energy hedging
* Perform other job-related duties as assigned or apparent
EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION:
Required:
* Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of experience Finance or Analytics
* Energy, Commodities or Financial Services or logistics industry
Preferred:
* Real Time Trader or Asset management experience in Northeastern ISO
* 5 years of prior experience in energy, economics, statistics, or market planning
* Experience managing and negotiating commercial arrangements
* Master’s degree in accounting, Economics, Finance, Statistics or Business Administration.
Other Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
* Ability to solve complex problems and maintain objectivity
* Ability to professionally interact with and influence others to gain support for ideas, proposals, projects and solutions.
* Ability to build and foster collaborative relationships by developing, maintaining and strengthening partnerships with others inside or outside the organization.
* Excellent negotiating, leadership, communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
* Strong analytical skills and the ability to address issues using a logical, systematic, sequential approach.
* Proven ability to work collaboratively across functional teams and different organizational levels to deliver results.
* Strong software proficiency in Excel, ESSbase, Sequel and other analytical programs
