Make an Impact

We are seeking a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Manager to lead our organization's efforts in fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace culture. As the DEI Manager, you will actively contribute to the development and execution of our comprehensive DEI strategy, while also implementing initiatives and programs that promote fairness, respect, and opportunities for all employees. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership abilities, strategic thinking, and a deep commitment to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion within our organization. This position reports directly to the VP of Total Rewards and Diversity and is pivotal in driving cultural transformation, employee engagement, and organizational success.

Roles and Responsibilities:

DEI Strategy and Leadership:

  • Execute the DEI strategy, goals, and objectives in alignment with business priorities and values.
  • Provide input and guidance in the development of the DEI strategy.
  • Partner with senior leadership to integrate DEI principles into all organizational culture and operations.
  • Serve as a member of the DEI Leadership Team, contributing to the overall vision and strategy.

Policy Development and Compliance:

  • Develop and implement DEI policies, practices, and guidelines to foster an inclusive workplace environment.
  • Ensure compliance with diversity-related laws, regulations, and reporting requirements.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert to problem-solve on DEI policies, procedures, and standards

Training and Education:

  • Design and deliver DEI training programs, workshops, and educational initiatives for employees at all levels.
  • Promote awareness and understanding of DEI issues and best practices throughout the organization.

Recruitment and Retention Strategies:

  • Collaborate with HR, TA, and hiring managers to develop inclusive recruitment strategies that attract diverse talent.
  • Implement retention strategies to support the career development and advancement of underrepresented groups.

Metrics and Measurement:

  • Monitor and analyze DEI metrics and data to track progress, identify themes, and inform decision making.
  • Establish metrics, benchmarks, and KPIs to track progress and measure the effectiveness of DEI initiatives.
  • Analyze data and trends to identify opportunities for improvement and address disparities.
  • Conduct systematic equity and inclusion audits across the business and foster a sense of urgency and accountability.

Community Engagement and Partnerships:

  • Build relationships with external organizations, community groups, and stakeholders to support DEI initiatives.
  • Represent the organization in DEI-related forums, conferences, and events to enhance visibility and collaboration.
  • Collaborate with external partners and peers across the industry through events and conferences to share best practices for advancing DEI.

Advocacy and Thought Leadership:

  • Serve as a visible advocate and champion for DEI within the organization and the broader community.
  • Manage Fossil’s five Employee Resources Groups (ERGs) - acts as primary contact for ERG programs.
  • To drive continuous improvement and innovation, stay informed about DEI trends, research, and best practices.

Global Benefits and Well-being Initiatives:

  • Collaborate with the Global Benefits team to incorporate wellness goals into existing events, training programs, and initiatives.
  • Work with the Benefits team to ensure all practices and policies align with DEI principles and that employee benefits programs are accessible to all employees.
  • Oversee Fossil's global recognition program in partnership with the Benefits and Communication teams.

Your Skills

  • A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field. A Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., DEI, HR, Organizational Development) is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in DEI-related roles, including strategic planning, policy development, training, and program implementation.
  • Certified Diversity Professional (CDP), Certified Inclusion Specialist (CIS), Certified Diversity Officer (CDO) or other relevant certifications is preferred.
  • Deep understanding of DEI principles, theories, and best practices.
  • Strong knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to diversity and inclusion.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to build relationships and collaborate with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to influence and persuade others.

The pay range for this role is $103,200 - $115,000. The actual salary offered will take into account a wide range of factors, including skills, experience and location.
