Full Job Description

As Construction Area Manager in Atlanta Gas Light’s Large Pipeline Construction group, you will lead a talented team of Supervisors, Project Engineers, Inspectors and Contractors and oversee large projects or programs of projects. You will be a true construction focal point with responsibility for construction planning, estimating, selecting contractors, contract execution, and driving top-tier quality and safety performance.

As our Construction Area Manager, a typical day might include:

  • Developing and managing contracts with large pipeline construction contractors, inspection firms, NDE firms, and other field service providers.
  • Monitoring construction costs and schedules to ensure on time and on budget project delivery.
  • Leading direct reports and interfacing with peers in project management, project controls, engineering, land, permitting, and other business functions involved in project delivery.
  • Supporting implementation of strategic initiatives, business process improvements, and technology implementations.

What you'll bring:

Required

  • High School Diploma
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Minimum 8-10 years of experience in industrial or utility construction, engineering, or operations
  • Minimum 3 years of experience managing direct reports
  • Intermediate to high proficiency with MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint
  • Effective written and verbal communication with company executives, teams of employees and direct reports, regulators, contractor leadership, inspector leadership, and public entities.
