Delivery Managers serve as the Chief Scrum Master across all delivery teams within a product. They are responsible for the overall solution delivery and support of large-scale programs with complex integrations. Delivery Managers are responsible for managing the communication across program stakeholders, defining mitigation strategies to remediate risks and issues, and assisting teams to ensure that the value being delivered aligns to the product vision defined by product managers.
Delivery Managers support the ability of the team to deliver value by: performing outward facing tasks such as, financial tracking, stakeholder relationships (supporting the product owner), and reporting to a wider organization.
In this matrixed role, the Delivery Manager will be responsible for large projects in Costco’s FICO systems. They will be responsible for the overall solution delivery and support of large-scale programs with complex integrations. They will lead end to end complex projects using Waterfall methodologies. They will also lead using a variety of agile and lean practices to help the team keep a delivery and learning cadence that remains focused on delivering value against the product vision.

ROLE
● Helps with the allocation of resources and provides teams with the necessary support to remediate impediments and reported issues.
● Facilitates program increment (PI) sessions across all delivery pods aligned to a product or value stream, and the accompanying planning sessions (pre and post PI planning sessions).
● Works with Product Owners and Scrum Masters to plan release schedules across products.
● Supports product teams with the delivery of new features and capabilities while empowering them and allowing them to be self-organized.
● Supports the Product Manager with the facilitation of system demos to demonstrate the integration of products to program stakeholders.
● Leads program increment retrospectives to identify improvement opportunities that can be implemented to improve productivity.
● Monitors delivery team metrics to evaluate progress against delivery milestones (e.g., release burnups).
● Aggregates individual delivery pod status into portfolio-level risks, assumptions, and interdependencies.
● Creates weekly reports highlighting the health of the overall delivery status to program leadership and various stakeholders.
● Fosters collaboration between the delivery pods and stakeholders at the product level.
● Leads regular “Scrum-of-Scrum” meetings with Scrum Masters from all product teams to drive alignment across development activities and review blockers or impediments impacting team productivity.
● Coordinates the resolution of internal and external dependencies across value streams and shared services.
● Drives tactical day-to-day delivery process, including removing impediments that negatively impact productivity or block the team’s process.
● Ensures effective communication, collaboration, coordination and team engagement in initiatives that cut across portfolios and products.
● Allocates resources and provides teams with necessary support to address impediments.
● Works with product owners to plan release schedules from the technology perspective (i.e. coordinates teams for delivery against release schedule).
● Works with stakeholders to create a high-level preliminary release and project delivery plans for product features.
● Manages delivery team metrics to evaluate progress against delivery milestones (i.e. releases).
● Aggregates individual product team status into portfolio-level risks, assumptions, and interdependencies.
● Adheres to technology standards while developing systems.
● Establishes and organizes application development plans that align with the goals and strategies.
● Understands Resource Management and the value of the resource management; and may practice one or more behaviors associated with the skill.
● Applies standard techniques and tools to carry out analysis and performance monitoring activities for specified products.
● Supports problem resolution; resolves issues; and acts on feedback and usage of in-life products.
● Provides input to the requirements base-line.
● Investigates, manages, and applies authorized requests for changes to base-lined requirements, in line with change management policy.
● Creates and manages detailed project plans and reports critical paths.
● Works with subject matter expertise to articulate high level technical status and provides status reports to the appropriate audience.
● Tracks, manages, mitigates, and documents risks and issues.
● Executes formal project change requests.
● Develops and establishes project budgets, manages changes, and tracks actual costs and variance to the approved budget.
● Collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and successful implementation of the projects.
● Manages clear and specific contractual terms for required project work with suppliers.
● Manages and escalates issues and concerns related to compliance and security to appropriate stakeholders.
● Sets clear expectations for self and others, and takes appropriate actions to ensure obligations are met.
● Revises standards in response to change.
● Applies standard techniques and tools to carry out analysis and performance monitoring activities for specified products.
● Supports problem resolution, resolves issues, and acts on feedback and usage of in-life products.
● Provides input to the requirements base-line.
● Investigates, manages, and applies authorized requests for changes to base-lined requirements, in line with change management policy.
REQUIRED
● 5+ years’ experience as a Delivery Manager and/or Program/Project Manager in an Agile and Waterfall environment.
● 3+ years’ experience independently leading large complex projects using Waterfall methodology.
● Understanding of Resource Management and the value of resource management across projects.
● Demonstrated experience to plan, lead, and deliver highly technical, complex IT solutions across multiple business and IT teams.
● Proven track record for successful delivery of projects and working cross-functionally with business and IT.
● Experience designing and implementing Agile processes.
● Strong process knowledge of SDLC and past experience leading development teams in Waterfall and Agile.
Recommended
● Familiarity with the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK).
● Experience with DevOps, including CI/CD.
● Proficient in the use of the Google products: email, spreadsheet, document, presentation.
● Working knowledge of Service Now (Carts+) Portfolio and Program Management module.
● Experience working with Financial Control systems, SAP, iSeries, and various Material Management systems.
● Successful internal candidates will have spent one year or more on their current team.

Pay Range:
Level 3: $125,000 - $155,000
Level 4: $145,000 - $200,000
