Job Description
Basic Functions & Responsibility:
This position is responsible for providing leadership and coaching in executing the transfer of Lean / MPS tools and skills into the organization and assessing/evolving the proficiency of these skills across the plant site.
PRIMARY ACTIVITIES:
Champion Lean Six Sigma/ Production Systems (LSS/MPS) Initiatives.
* Lead others in supporting and implementing the MPS/Lean Six Sigma programs.
* Build interest for LSS/MPS across Wilson, promoting common LSS/MPS language across Wilson.
* Drive development of visual workplace and proper execution of tier process.
* Develop a culture of problem solving, continuous improvement, and customer focus.
* Share expertise to teams/site including:
- Continuous Improvement concepts such as Six Sigma (DMAIC, Design for Six Sigma (DFSS)), Lean Manufacturing, Change management and High Performing Organization.
- LSS/MPS principles of teamwork, methodology, business benefit, innovation, and customer focus.
Project Leadership
* Identify opportunities for improvement and support projects through discovery, design, and implementation.
* Lead cross-functional MPS Lean projects.
Performance Monitoring and Data Analysis
* Assess business process efficiency and performance.
* Identify LSS/MPS financial and non-financial goals.
* Achieve business process improvements and measuring/reporting initiative results.
* Provide consultation to various functions to establish and maintain meaningful metrics.
* Manage and report site metrics as requested.
Benchmarking
* Lead implementation of best practices across the Wilson site.
* Identify best practices within the site and build network for best practice sharing.
* Share best practices from other divisions and corporate-wide activities.
* Drive scientific problem solving.
* Develop and implement standardized work.
* Lead creation of visual management tools, 5S, and tier process.
* Manage activities to drive operational improvement including OA%, SMED, and TPM.
* Lead transformational change and work on identifying greatest MPS opportunities across the Wilson site.
* Provide leadership for MPS knowledge management and sharing (i.e. training).
* Recommend and develop training curriculum on specific lean and six sigma tools as needed.
* Expand personal lean understanding and skill set.
Work with MPS sponsors/team leader supporting continuous improvement projects through mentoring and coaching
* Work directly with sponsors to drive change initiatives.
* Active participation with continuous improvement team leaders.
* Serve as team member for critical site projects.
Perform other duties as assigned.
SKILLS:
Education Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent (BS/BA degree in related field preferred)
Required Skills
- A minimum of 1 to 2 years hands-on experience in the application of Lean/Six Sigma methodologies
- A minimum of 1 to 2 years of functional experience in a manufacturing / packaging environment, preferably in GMP / pharmaceutical manufacturing
- Demonstrated application of culture and business change methodologies
Preferred Skills
- Excellent facilitative and leadership skills
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills
- Strong working knowledge and demonstrated application of Lean Six Sigma Methodology to drive business results

U.S. Hybrid Work Model
