The Benefits Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of our organization's benefits programs, including health and welfare benefits for employees and retirees, retirement plans, workers' compensation, system interfaces and updates, and policy and procedure revisions.

Responsibilities

  • Creates and manages employee benefits programs, such as health, dental, vision, life insurance, and retirement plans.
  • Serves as the health and wellness benefits manager, liaising with the health insurance consortium, reviewing vendor contracts, analyzing data, overseeing enrollment processes, ensuring data accuracy, recommending accrual rates, and ensuring HIPAA compliance.
  • Works closely with benefits brokers and carriers to ensure the efficient administration of all employee benefits, including resolving coverage issues, processing claims, and addressing employee inquiries.
  • Oversees the annual benefits renewal process, working with brokers, carriers, and vendors to research, analyze, and compare different benefit plans, ultimately presenting recommendations to senior management.
  • Assists employees with benefits-related questions and problems and is the point of contact for all Benefits related employee needs.
  • Manages the reconciliation process for benefits invoices, verifying accuracy and making any required adjustments.
  • Manages retirement plans, assisting with inquiries, researching legislative updates, implementing changes, consulting with legal advisors, processing enrollment materials, participating in committee meetings, and reporting to management and vendors.
  • Ensures that benefits programs are competitive, equitable, and aligned with corporate objectives.
  • Develop and distribute training materials and offer ongoing guidance to employees regarding their benefits options.
    • Conduct benefits education and training sessions 
  • Manages workers' compensation and ADA programs, reviewing and recommending updates to internal processes, analyzing costs, evaluating vendors, and overseeing all accommodation requests.
  • Ensure the organization's compliance with all applicable benefits regulations, including filing Form 5500.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in benefits administration- creating and negotiating plans.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local benefits laws and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Proficiency with benefits administration software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) designation.

This position is 100% in-office for the first 90 days during standard business hours, then hybrid after the first 90 days.

Pay Range$110,000—$140,000 USD
