





About this role:
Reporting to the head of Sustainability, this position will lead a small team and identify innovative opportunities to advance the company’s sustainable finance capabilities, thought leadership and insights-driven reporting. Recognized as a sustainable finance subject matter expert, this individual will collaborate with key business partners to advance sustainable financing and other sustainability-related business objectives. This position can sit in Charlotte, NC; New York, NY or Washington, DC and offers a hybrid work schedule. The Wells Fargo job profile is Community Impact & Sustainability Director.
In this role, you will:
Develop initiatives with client-facing teams to enable sustainable finance activity in support of business objectives
Implement sustainability-related thought leadership strategies with a regular cadence of outputs to support client-facing teams, as well as for broader public use
Develop materials and initiatives to support sustainability-related education, including responsibly deploying AI-powered platforms
Champion internal education and awareness opportunities
Provide oversight of the tracking and reporting of sustainable finance data through various channels
Ideate a coordinated sustainability data insights strategy in collaboration with data and technology
Develop critical dashboards and visuals for executive and board reporting
Oversee the bank's sustainability bond program
Partner with senior leaders across Public Affairs to enhance our reputation as a leader in sustainability
Collaborate with colleagues to support strategic external engagement with third-parties
Deliver executive-level presentations that influence decision makers
Lead and coach a small team of geographically dispersed sustainability professionals
Required Qualifications:
8+ years of Community Impact or Sustainability experience, demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
4+ years of management or leadership experience
Desired Qualifications:
Experience leading sustainable, clean energy, and climate finance initiatives
Experience developing tools and resources to support education and training in sustainability and sustainable finance
Experience implementing sustainability-related thought leadership strategies
Experience developing dashboards and visuals for executive and board reporting
Experience leading change in an organization’s culture and strategy
Experience preparing executive-level presentations with MS PowerPoint
Experience leading, high-performing geographically dispersed teams
Job Expectations:
Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
