Summary:
The Employee Health nursing assistant is an integral part of the team, and operates under the direction and supervision of a professional nurse. This employee shall participate in a variety of clinical and clerical functions to ensure the efficient functioning of the clinic and a welcoming and positive experience for our employees/patients. Key customers served will be patients (Employees and Contractors) who receive services in the clinic. The NA II will be required to perform duties and manages interpersonal relationships with co-workers, physicians and other departments in a manner designed to project a positive image of the department and hospital.
Responsibilities:
- Duties will include, but not be limited to:
- Registration of patients, assisting with triage, collecting co-pays, maintaining clinic schedules, rooming patients, phlebotomy, wound dressing, assisting with specialty clinics such as flu or Fit Testing

EDUCATION
- High school graduate or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE
- Previous experience as NA II Required
- Previous experience in Urgent Care or Out-Patient setting strongly preferred.
- Previous experience with billing and/or collecting co-payments strongly preferred.
CERTIFICATION REQUIRED
- Certified as a NAII in the State of North Carolina
- BCLS Certification.
OTHER SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work as a team member, willingness to learn and grow.
- Displays calm in acute stressful situations. Proficient with computers.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Occasionally exposed to: Infectious diseases, chemicals, BBP requiring the use of PPE, airborne pathogens. May experience stressful work periods with high volumes of patients.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to engage in the following physical activities on a daily basis:
- Periods of standing, moving stretchers, carts and equipment, use of computer/keyboarding
