Summary:
The Ultrasound Program Director is responsible for the performance of quality diagnostic imaging on Obstetrics and Gynecology. The Director will oversee the ObGyn virtual reading room, remote ultrasound contracts, and the curriculum for sonographer onboarding, training, and continuing education.
Responsibilities:
1. Independently prepares and submits annual budgets consistent with the Obstetrics and Gynecology ultrasound program, including staffing, supplies, and remote contract revenue. Works with the ObGyn Associate Chair for Administration to maintain the monthly budget and address any variances.
2. Oversees appropriate training and continuing education process for UNC ObGyn ultrasound technicians as well as any training needs for remote ultrasound contract partners.
3. Develops annual management plans consistent with the mission and strategic plan of the organization and department; maintains sufficient staff to perform the duties and responsibilities of department; attends monthly department manager meetings; develops new and/or improves current programs
4. Maintains contact with customers to solicit appropriate input; identifies needs or problems are addressed in a timely manner; develops and implements quality improvement programs using the principles of strategic quality management; ensures all department functions are in compliance with regulatory requirements
Other Information
Education Requirements:
● Graduation from an approved school of Radiologic Technology; Bachelor's Degree
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
● Registered ARRT in Radiology or Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS).
Professional Experience Requirements:
● Five (5) years of experience in a related imaging discipline, including three (3) years of supervisory experience (or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience).
Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:
● Thorough knowledge of clinical procedures. Demonstrate expertise and skill to effectively manage staff, organize and delegate work assignments. Effective written and verbal skills to develop and maintain rapport with physicians and external clients. Ability to manage multiple competing priorities concurrently. Familiarity with regulatory requirements.
