Job Description Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Scientist to join our dynamic team. You will play a critical role in our research program in global R&D, where you will be responsible for using advanced AI tools and methodologies to translate research into actionable applications. You will also work closely with research teams, produce developers, IT partners, project owners and business stakeholders to deliver impactful data insights and AI-driven solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

AI & Machine Learning:

  • Design, build, and deploy AI models that transform research insights into practical applications.

  • Utilize machine learning libraries (such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and scikit-learn) and frameworks to develop predictive models and algorithms.

Data Analysis & Interpretation:

  • Conduct detailed analyses of large datasets to extract meaningful patterns and insights.

  • Identify trends and anomalies in data to support decision-making and strategic planning.

Collaboration & Integration:

  • Partner with research teams to understand their findings and determine the best ways to incorporate them into business applications.

  • Work closely with product development teams to implement AI models into our software products and services.

  • Engage with stakeholders to define project scopes, objectives, and deliverables.

Model Optimization:

  • Continuously monitor and refine AI models to enhance performance and accuracy.

  • Implement best practices for model validation, A/B testing, and performance measurement.

Technical Leadership:

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in AI, machine learning, and data science.

  • Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership and other key stakeholders in a clear and succinct manner.

Documentation & Reporting:

  • Maintain thorough documentation of methodologies, processes, and models.

  • Prepare comprehensive reports and visualizations to communicate complex data and AI concepts to non-technical audiences.

Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D) in scientific discipline including physics, chemistry, biology, biochemistry, chemical and food engineering, and food and nutrition science OR a data science expert with proven working experience in the above areas.

  • Minimum 5 years post-graduate hands on experience translating interdisciplinary scientific research to AI/ML models.

  • Strong communication skill, with the ability to explain technical data, concepts, and results to diverse audiences. Prefer 3+ years industry experience.

  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or Scala; familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases.

  • Strong experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.

  • Strong project management skills. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects across product categories.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Experience with deep learning frameworks and big data technologies is a plus.
