Senior/Staff Software Engineer with C++ - Drivers, Diagnostic, & Embedded Software (San Diego, CA)
You have the opportunity to work on the development of Intravascular Ultrasound Systems. As a member of a cross-functional team, you will work closely together with electrical engineers, transducer engineers, software engineers, system engineers, and ultrasound engineers.
Your role:
Being a key contributor to the development of medical capital equipment
Architect, design, and develop driver, diagnostic, and embedded software for intravascular ultrasound systems.
Interfacing with multi-disciplinary teams consisting of marketing, hardware, software, catheter design, and manufacturing to refine design requirements for next generation intravascular ultrasound devices.
Create software requirement specifications, software architecture documents, and detailed software design documents.
Design, develop, and debug driver software and embedded software to implement communication between hardware and application software using C++.
You're the right fit if:
You have 8 + years of experience in software/embedded software development, preferably in the field of medical electronics.
You are experienced with object-oriented programming languages design, and coding. (Strong C++ is required).
You earned a BS or MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related field.
You must be able to successfully perform the following minimum Physical, Cognitive and Environmental job requirements with or without accommodation for this position.
You’ve gained industry experience creating detailed design documentation (specifications, design descriptions, verification and testing plans). Having knowledge of digital signal and image processing would be a plus, as would knowledge of CUDA with such applications.
How we work together:
We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week. Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities. Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.
This is an office-based role in San Diego, CA.

Philips Transparency Details:
The pay range for this position in CA is $126,000 to $201,000
The actual base pay offered may vary within the posted ranges depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.
In addition, other compensation, such as an annual incentive bonus, sales commission or long-term incentives may be offered.
