Job Summary:
NRG is seeking a Manager, Product Strategy and Operations who is passionate about identifying how current sales channels/product lines are functioning, and how to improve them through building reporting and analyzing the data. The ideal candidate will also manage the implementation of these changes to introduce performance metrics to improve the sales channels and product lines. This person will determine what needs to be done to turn their ideas into reality, provide analytical insight to justify the business case, drive to improve the P&L, and own the results.
The ideal candidate will easily fit into a fast-paced, dynamic, creative team driven to accelerate the future of home energy and smart homes. This position will support one of the main objectives of NRG by increasing NRG's ability to optimize its Virtual Power Plant. This position will need to work across the organization to develop and deliver improvements to the Virtual Power Plant metrics.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Develop a deep understanding of the Energy and specifically the VPP market landscape, uncover and size areas of opportunity to expand into
- Metrics to drive the business, including forecasts of active customers, margin, and expected NPV resulting from product launches.
- Ability to supply relevant financials to build a financial model around prospective ideas/scenarios.
- Prepare scenario analyses for new and existing products to estimate the expected value gain or loss from product launches, including cannibalization of existing products.
- Monitors performance of products currently in market to ensure customers are and NRG are both getting value.
- Evaluate usage, installation success, customer satisfaction, customer behavior and drive into the business improvements
- Provide in depth analysis with interpretive thinking to define problems, develop innovative solutions, and influence strategic decisions.
- Estimate the total addressable market for products and the impact of those products to provide load shed to NRG.
- Identify and communicate risk and impacts of proposed solutions along with risk mitigation options.
- Conduct research and generate insights, use-cases, and industry analyses to address potential future opportunities for the Virtual Power Plant business.
- Provide additional support on requested tasks, prioritize tasks, communicate across the team, proactively report performance, and drive cross functional teams to develop and implement solutions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions:
- Open office environment with frequent collaboration within and across team.
- Hybrid work environment with 3 days per week in office and 2 days remote.
- Limited travel may be required
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university is required.
- Product Management or Project Management and analytics experience required
- 3-5 years of relevant career experience required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Finance, Mathematics, Engineering, Economics, or Business.
- Strong analytical skills required; moderate understanding of financial modeling is a plus.
- Product Management or Project Management experience, preferably in the consumer-facing products, financial, or services industries.
- Experience in energy, sustainability services and smart home technology preferred.
- Experience working in startups or with an incubator/accelerator.

Physical Requirements:
- Majority of work performed on a computer in a seated position.
