A member of the Business Development team, the Manager of Alumni Relations will support, lead, monitor and report on programs, events and initiatives designed to promote a consistent and meaningful dialogue with and among the firm’s alumni community. The Manager will work in close collaboration with the Senior Manager of Alumni Relations and the Chief Business Development Officer and seamlessly with colleagues across departments and serves as an ambassador of the Morgan Lewis alumni program to our internal and external constituents.

Innovative, motivated, and self-directed, the ideal candidate will bring exceptional organizational skills and a blend of project leadership, business analysis, executive communication, and process management. This is an exciting opportunity to be directly involved in the business development planning for an AmLaw Top 10 firm.

Morgan Lewis recognizes the benefits of supporting flexible working arrangements. This position can reside in any one of our Boston, Chicago, New York, Philadelphia, Washington DC, or San Francisco offices with a hybrid in-office/remote working schedule.

Key responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Senior Manager of Alumni Relations and the Business Development team to support the strategy around alumni-facing activities to grow the firm’s alumni footprint by generating awareness, creating networking opportunities, and identifying and assisting in developing business development opportunities and support day to day alumni program administrative tasks.

  • Help manage firm alumni initiatives, including newsletters, CLE presentations, social media posts, events, and alumni data management.

  • Produce high-quality content that engages clients and builds alumni brand recognition internally and externally; and, in partnership with the Senior Manager of Alumni Relations and the creative team, execute the production of program materials including the alumni newsletter, the ML Alumni Network, internal communications, and team presentations.

  • Serve as a resource for the ML Alumni Network portal including posting content, activating alumni users, create and maintain tracking and reporting tools (e.g., spreadsheets, databases) and compile metrics and provide data analytics on alumni engagement and the performance of alumni engagement initiatives.

  • Manage the coordination of events pertaining to the firm’s alumni program and business development opportunities and engage with stakeholders to oversee special firm projects, events, and activities.

  • Assist in developing and executing signature initiatives of the firm’s alumni program: Alumni Allies program, GC Academy, Alumni Ambassadors, HR Alumni “Welcome” program, and the online alumni community.

Experience and education:

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of three (3) years of alumni relations or similar experience within a large professional services firm, or corporate environment

  • Excellent writing, communication, and presentation skills.

  • Ability to act with a high degree of integrity and maintain confidentiality and superior reasoning skills and sound business judgment to influence decision-making and effectively interface with executive management.

  • Ability to build and maintain relationships internally and externally and experience excelling in highly matrixed work environments working across multiples business units and functional teams.

  • Results oriented with the ability to effectively prioritize and balance competing demands and seamlessly pivot from project lead to project assistant based on nature of assignments

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Interaction, knowledge of Portals/Website/Social Media tools and resources a plus.

For positions in San Francisco, CA, the salary range for this job posting is $113,580.00 - $181,728.00.

For positions in Washington D.C., the salary range for this job posting is $104,494.00 - $167,190.00.

For positions in NY, the salary range for this job posting is

$113,580.00 - $181,728.00.




The base salary or hourly wage range for this position will be determined during the interview process and will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to prior experience, relevant expertise, current business needs, and market factors. The final salary or hourly wages offered may be outside of this range based on other reasons and individual circumstances. Additionally, salary or hourly wages may be only part of the total compensation package. The total compensation package for this position may also include a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, the employee will be in an "at-will position" and the firm reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, firm or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
