Job Description:

The Program Manager, Co-op & Ad Standards will develop and optimize Mazda’s Dealer Co-op and Ad Standards Program encompassing both sales co-op and service & parts co-op.

As the subject matter expert (SME) for Mazda’s Co-op and Advertising Standards program, this role will collaborate with key stakeholders and agency partners to establish and implement new policies, guidelines, and financial reimbursement structures to support Mazda in achieving strategic marketing goals. Responsibilities include managing communication, training, logistics, and program administration. Key objectives for this position will include dealer utilization, adherence to branding guidelines, and alignment with the overall priorities of the Marketing department. Additionally, the Program Manager will support the Regional Field teams and dealers with all Co-op related matters including metrics related to distribution and utilization.

Co-op Administration - 50%

  • Contributes to the development and implementation of the overall co-op program strategy, policies, and standards to support Mazda marketing objectives.
  • Coordinate the administration of Mazda’s co-op vendor relationship, including annual contract reviews and negotiations.
  • Coordinate the vendor’s process for accruals, payout reporting and approvals.
  • Collaborate with Accounting and IT teams on dealer accruals and program management.
  • Administers Co-op exceptions and enhanced co-op programs.
  • Drive initiatives to measure, monitor, and improve dealer Co-op utilization.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with program vendors including timelines, status meetings, and ensures effective communication and implementation of program updates and enhancements.
  • Provide guidance and resources to managers, specialists, field and others on all Co-op related activities.
  • Works cross-functionally with Accounting, IT, and vendors to set up and manage the MKC Automated Parts Statement Billing system.
  • Performs analyses as requested by Senior Management.
  • Benchmarks other OEMs from to gather g best practices.
  • Provides executive program updates as needed.

Program Budget and Audit Support - 20%

  • Reviews and provides input to budget and program performance. Collaborates with legal, IT, and senior management to define and approve scope of work.
  • Reviews and approves monthly Co-op payment in a timely manner.
  • Manage Co-op program audit process. Work cross-functionally with Accounting and Internal Controls to create processes including:
    • Test access to the program website for dealer, regional and national user permissions. Review the list of active users and super users, including their associated permissions for program website.
    • Review dealer claims, pre-approvals, and monitoring throughout the year. Present findings to Executive Vice President, Controller, and Accounting Manager.
    • Make recommendations to close process gaps and identify areas for improvement.

Other Retail Marketing Projects - 20%

  • Works cross-functionally to support other retail marketing initiatives, including Mazda Merchandise program, Retail Events, and other initiatives that may impact Dealer marketing.
  • Works with Sales Ops, IT, and other departments on projects that include Co-op, such as the Field Dashboard and Power BI.

Advertising Standards & Compliance - 10%

  • Responsible for maintaining MNAO dealer’s branding guidelines and standards, ensuring alignment with Mazda’s overall Brand strategy and design.
  • Issues all communications related to compliance program initiatives or updates.
  • Establishes website compliance standards for co-op eligibility.
  • Publishes monthly Minimum Advertising Price guidelines.

Qualifications and Other Requirements:

Education (Minimum):

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or business, or equivalent combination of education, training and work experience required.

Experience:

  • Minimum three (3) years’ experience in marketing or related field.
  • Working knowledge of advertising media, automotive marketing and retail marketing is required.
  • Automotive, OEM, dealer or agency experience highly desired.
  • Ability to create and execute marketing programs required.

Preferred experience:

  • Retail marketing and/or region or field experience is preferred.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Knowledge of project management principles including planning, scheduling budgeting to effectively contribute to and support project activities.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively convey information and ideas clearly to individual and group situations and adjusts language or terminology to the characteristics and needs of audience.
  • Solid presentation skills: ability to communicate ideas and information in a clear, engaging and professional manner to diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
  • Strong understanding of various advertising media (print, broadcast and digital), including their strengths, limitations, audience reach and how to optimize campaign performance.
  • Must be highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and maintain attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working with minimal supervision and/or direction.

Pay Range:

$83,300.00-$120,800.00

Salary to be determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
