Provides assessment of patient condition based on diagnosis from the referring physician. Develops and updates an appropriate plan of care in collaboration with the patient/family to assist in returning them to their maximum level of function. Evaluates and treats patients with speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders in individuals of all ages, from infants to the elderly.Job DutiesPerforms evaluations of the speech language and the swallowing function to detect speech or voice disorders. Evaluates cognition, expressive, and receptive language and written language, reading comprehension, speech intelligibility, oral motor structure, and voice.Supports effective communication and collaboration with the physician oversight of speech pathology programs.
