Your Team’s Impact:
FactSet’s Private Capital business encompasses our solutions for Private Equity, Private Credit, and Venture Capital firms, supporting workflows ranging from research and deal sourcing to portfolio monitoring and reporting. With our open/flexible data and technology solutions, Cobalt portfolio monitoring solution, AI-enabled Workstation, institutional-grade portfolio analytics suite and buy-side investor base, FactSet is poised to expand market share in the private capital market and claim greenfield opportunity in Private Credit.
Reporting directly to the EVP, Head of Dealmakers & Wealth, we seek a dynamic, collaborative leader to oversee our Private Capital firm-type business. You will drive an innovative, differentiated product and go-to-market strategy that will accelerate our net Annual Subscription Value (ASV) growth.
What You’ll Do:
- Product and AI Strategy: Lead with sound product management principles—such as ideation, hypothesis creation, experimentation, and validation—to craft and implement a comprehensive product strategy that addresses both immediate and future goals. This strategy should align with market opportunities, client requirements, and FactSet's execution capabilities. Anticipate the transformative impact of AI on future private capital workflows and structure our strategic direction accordingly.
- Commercial/Sales Focus: Engage weekly with client-facing teams to generate new business and gather intelligence that will improve our strategy in the short and long term. Identify the top 50 prospects and work alongside the sales team to develop tailored engagement plans. Collaborate with Sales on monthly and quarterly forecasting. Embrace a mindset of challenging conventions, remain receptive to reimagining pricing, packaging, and messaging to ensure our solutions effectively appeal to Private Equity, Private Credit, and Venture Capital firms—emphasizing the functionality and data solutions that cater to their specific needs.
- Cross-functional Leadership: Inspire and motivate high-performing teams consisting of product, engineering and implementation professionals, driving success through collaboration across different businesses.
- Financial & Business Leadership: Direct accountability for the business's financial performance, creating and executing comprehensive strategies for retention and net growth across the Private Capital landscape, globally. Responsible for producing quarterly business reporting, win/loss and product analytics/usage interpretation, inputs to board materials, memos, town halls, and newsletters.
- Competitive Analysis: Implement and maintain in-depth assessments of industry trends, stakeholder requirements, and competitive landscapes to direct strategic priorities. Keep a close watch on the competitive environment to identify partnerships and acquisitions that can stimulate growth, enhance our market position, and distinctively differentiate FactSet. Analyze the macro-level needs, total addressable market, trends, and competitors of various firm types, and map user workflows to inform overall corporate priorities.
- Thought Leadership: Serve as the public face of FactSet to the Private Capital firm community, leading Client Advisory Boards, appearing at global industry conferences, providing interviews, actively building and leveraging networks to deepen client relationships.
- Business Development: In partnership with Finance (Corporate Development), identify and cultivate new inorganic opportunities that align with strategic objectives to accelerate growth.
What We’re Looking For:
- Industry Experience: Minimum of 15+ years with an exceptional performance history in private capital across business, data, or technology solutions.
- Product Management: Successful track record of building and bringing products to market.
- Thought Leadership: Established reputation as a thought leader in private capital, fluent in industry trends.
- Global Team Leadership: Proven experience in managing teams within a global, cross-functional framework.
- Communication Skills: Superior written and verbal communication proficiency, ability to craft compelling narratives, create crisp and engaging PowerPoint decks for board-level consumption, and build trusting relationships.
- Sales Orientation: Demonstrated success leading or participating in the sales and go-to-market process, with a track record of driving business outcomes.
The budgeted base salary for this position in the state of Connecticut and NYC is $185,000-250,000. US applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
