A Brief Overview
This role performs detailed and diversified administrative and clerical functions relating to maintenance of all documentation and credentialing.
What you will do
- Maintain credentialing, licensure or accreditation compliance
- Communicate with leadership regularly to review status and criteria to ensure compliance with CHOP and regulatory standards.
- Advise leadership of anticipated problems involving credentialing, licensure or accreditation
- Maintain and perform computerized and/or manual recordkeeping functions
- Monitor data collection to ensure licensure and credentials are current
- Coordinate periodic requests for information from stakeholder departments such as Public Relations, Development and Marketing
- Ensures that primary source verifications are performed in a timely manner
- Provide administrative oversight for internal systems
- Develop and maintain automated response programs for accurate notification of time-sensitive documents pending expiration
- Continually review internal documents and updates as required for regulatory compliance
- Ensure that primary source verifications are performed in a timely manner
- Assures superior credentialing customer service
- Use independent judgment when problem solving; Seek assistance from manager, team lead, or team member immediately when necessary
- Recognize customer concerns, prioritize them appropriately and follow-up within 24 hrs on all queries
- Monitor compliance of assigned departments for all outstanding documents, files and/or signatures required to complete appointments and/or reappointments
- Provide administrative support to leadership
- Provide support for periodic projects as required as part of ongoing effort to regulatory requirements
- Coordinate related annual activities including audit data submission, site visits and surveys
Education Qualifications
- High School Diploma / GED Required
- Bachelor's Degree Preferred
Experience Qualifications
- At least three (3) years education, medical staff or physician related credentialing experience Required
- At least five (5) years education, medical staff or physician related credentialing experience Preferred
- At one (1) year experience in ECHO Credentialing and/or HealthStream Preferred.
- At least one (1) year experience in a medical staff office in a hospital setting Preferred.
- At least one (1) experience participating in Joint Commission audits/ licensing surveys Preferred.
Skills and Abilities
- Advanced proficiency with office software (Microsoft Office) including word processing and spreadsheet software (Word, Excel. Adobe)
- Intermediate proficiency with processing renewals, verifications and data searches
- Intermediate knowledge of credentialing management database systems
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong time management skills
- Strong conflict resolution skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
- Ability to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels
