PURPOSE:
We are seeking a transformative leader to oversee the administration of our data platforms and operations, inclusive of integration & ETL, data warehouse management, and BI tooling administration. This Director-level role is responsible for rationalizing and building a cohesive roadmap for our data platforms and operational services. You will play a critical role in ensuring that our data platforms are effectively integrated and aligned with organizational goals.
In this role, you will own production support for enterprise data operations, which includes managing service contracts for off-hours support and leading a full-time production organization. You will be responsible for the performance and scalability of our data warehouses and integration platforms, ensuring they meet the needs of the organization.
As the Director of Data Operations & Services, you will interact with various stakeholders, including data engineering, data governance, IT, and business leaders. You will collaborate closely with these teams to ensure that our data platforms and services meet current and future needs. Your ability to drive innovation and efficiency in data platform administration and production support processes will be key to your success in this role.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Leadership & Strategy: Define and implement data operations and platform roadmaps, ensuring alignment with overall corporate strategy. Collaborate with senior leadership to prioritize initiatives that maximize business impact.
- Platform Administration: Oversee the administration of data platforms for integrations, data governance tooling, BI, and data warehousing, including Informatica (IICS/MDM/Axon/EDC/IDQ), Snowflake, Fabric, MicroStrategy, and Databricks. Ensure these platforms are effectively integrated and aligned with organizational goals.
- Roadmap Development: Develop and maintain a cohesive roadmap for data platforms, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technological advancements.
- Production Support: Manage production support for enterprise data services, including oversight of managed service contracts for off-hours support and leadership of a full-time production team.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data engineering, data governance, and business stakeholders, to ensure data platforms and services meet current and future needs.
- Innovation and Efficiency: Drive innovation and efficiency in data platform administration and production support processes, leveraging best practices and emerging technologies.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education Level: Bachelor's Degree, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field OR in lieu of a Bachelor's degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required in addition to the required work experience.
Experience: 8 years Related professional experience
3 years Management experience.
Licenses/Certifications
Data Management\Certified Analytics Professional (CAP) Upon Hire Preferred
Preferred Qualifications:
- 10 years related professional experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)
Demonstratable expertise in technical knowledge of data platforms, application lifecycle management, and standard operational support requirements (SLAs, SOPs, etc.)
In-depth knowledge and best practices for managing and optimizing technical platforms and processes, including streaming data architectures, data warehouse management, lake house architecture, ETL/ELT and data store patterns, CI/CD management, containerization, and orchestration tools (ADF, Airflow, Prefect, Control-M)
Experience with vendor and contractor management for enabling operational support and guiding organizational preferences in tooling and process
Proven track record of building and leading high-performing teams, with strong communication skills to influence stakeholders at all levels.
Ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences and articulate data & analytics value propositions in business terms.
Skilled in leading iterative development cycles with measurable outcomes. Ability to adapt and respond quickly to shifting priorities, ensuring minimal disruption and maximum ROI.
Expertise with designing and deploying real-time monitoring systems and dashboards to manage data operations.
Experience in strategic technology planning and execution, including user guides, use policies, user acceptance, and support/maintenance.
Experience applying Agile, DevOps, or SAFe principles to large-scale data engineering initiatives.
Knowledge of healthcare payers, providers, pharmacies, and community health businesses is preferred.
Salary Range: $156,400 - $290,318
