Title: Workers Compensation (WC) claims

Location: Virtual, Florida, US / Remote

Time Zone: EST/CST

Duration: 12 Months plus

Must Have:

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years in indemnity (lost time) Workers' Compensation Adjusting.
  • Negotiation Skills: Experience negotiating full and final Workers' Compensation (WC) settlements and ability to explain settlement evaluation rationale.
  • Role: WC Claim Consultant

Job Description:

Position: Accelerated Claim Closure - Claim Consultant
Work Arrangement: Remote; must work EST hours in an EST or CST time zone.

Overview:
Claim Consultants are responsible for providing and/or assisting Claim Closure Services (ACCS) Practice in delivering high-quality consulting services to clients. This role requires the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team atmosphere. The Claim Consultant will participate in all delivery phases of ACCS that are assigned to this position.

Responsibilities:

  • Claim Review: Review claim activity based on industry best practices and assess compliance in handling Workers' Compensation (WC) claims.
  • Strategy Development: Understand current claim status and develop appropriate and aggressive strategies for legacy claims (older than 12 months) to either bring them to resolution or minimize costs.
  • Adjuster Monitoring: Ensure adjuster activities align with and execute strategies.
  • Evaluation: Evaluate reserve and settlement exposure.
  • Legal Review: Review the appropriateness of legal strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: At least 3 years of adjusting Workers' Compensation lost time and litigated claims.
  • Expertise: Well-versed in lost-time claims, including high-dollar settlement negotiations, litigation strategy, and Medicare Set-Asides (MSAs).
