Superintendent of Schools

Woodbridge, Connecticut

The Woodbridge Board of Education seeks dynamic and effective leaders as candidates for its Superintendent of Schools position.

About the Woodbridge School District

The Woodbridge School District educates approximately 870 students at Beecher Road Elementary School in Grades PK-6.  Beecher Road School promotes and fosters high expectations for student growth, active learning, and academic excellence for all learners while fostering a strong sense of community. The mission of Beecher Road School is a caring, creative community that models and inspires the joy of lifelong learning, embraces diversity, and celebrates the unique qualities of each person. Parents are invested in their children’s education and take pride in the excellent school, teachers and staff that make up the Woodbridge School District.

The Woodbridge School District offers a rigorous curriculum. Approximately eighty students in Grades 1-4 participate in a unique Multi Age Group (MAG) program.  The Board of Education values providing a designated STEAM teacher and an opportunity for pre-algebra in grade six. An after school and summer enrichment program offers an extensive menu of extracurricular activities, both academic and recreational. The entire staff is committed to establishing a school environment that allows students to flourish and to grow intellectually, emotionally, and socially.

The Woodbridge School District works in collaboration with the surrounding towns of Bethany and Orange and Amity Regional District No. 5 as all PK-6 students in the three towns join Amity Regional District No. 5 for Grades 7-12.  The four districts working together are referenced as BOWA.

A nine-member Board of Education is elected to oversee district governance.  The mission of the Woodbridge Board of Education is to create and foster a learning community that prepares children to be flexible, lifelong learners, and responsible global citizens.  The vision is to empower and inspire future leaders who will positively impact our world.

About the Woodbridge Community
