OBJECTIVE/PURPOSE:
Under the direction of the Community Services Support Manager, the Vocational Coordinator works with the CRT and AOP Staff to support and encourage employment for adults in the CRT and/or AOP Programs. Establishes relationships with employers, clients, and individual teams. Attends meetings when needed.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.0 EMPLOYMENT SUPPORT:
Initiates contact with various employers in Bennington and Manchester to represent the CRT/AOP Program promoting collaboration for potential client hires. Works with clients on career assessments, building a resume, job skills and trainings, employment exploration, and hiring protocols and procedures. Advocates on behalf of clients at employment sites. Engages in problem solving and job structuring. Works with the Case Managers to ensure knowledge of support is clear once a new client job placement is established. Provides direct on the job support as needed. The Vocational Coordinator will follow the IPS (Independent Placement and Support) principals as much as possible.
2,0 JOB DEVELOPMENT:
Following the IPS Principles, the Vocational Coordinator will seek out opportunities for employment in the Community and assist clients in applying for employment.
3,0 RECORDS KEEPING:
Writes and submits progress notes and billing within established time limits. Completes all assigned documentation. Monitors required documentation from other professionals and employers. Reports client employment numbers to DMH. Coordinates services with Vocational Rehabilitation.
- SCHEDULING:
Schedules weekly individual time for agency representation with businesses and employers. Schedules direct employment support with clients as needed.
- PROGRAM IMPLEMENTATION:
Serves as an advocate on behalf of the individual, program, and/or agency. Responds to requests for information as needed. Communicates with staff, other agency programs, and/or other human service agencies to obtain or provide all relevant individual information. Ensures that quality services are provided to individuals. Attends staff meetings, supervision meetings, ISA meetings, and scheduled agency / division meetings as required.
Participates in meetings and training programs as requested or assigned.
- In addition to the above, performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma or equivalent. Relevant experience preferred.
SKILLS:
This individual must have good interpersonal and communication skills. This position requires collaboration with local and county wide businesses to promote our employment mission and establish relationships with organizational managers and supervisors. Basic computer skills.
