The Training & Education Program Administrator (TEPA) is responsible for engaging in the design, development, and deployment of clinical curricula in Organ Services to maximize performance, deliver job specific skills-based on-boarding, and measure and document learners’ preparedness of practical and productive knowledge, skills, and abilities to execute defined processes and procedures.

The TEPA provides coaching and guidance for position-specific knowledge, skills, and abilities in Organ Services. The curricula that are being designed and delivered include job specific on-boarding for clinical positions that engage in on-site clinical care coordination and facilitation of organ donation opportunities and that guide the clinical care of the donor through professional coordination with the hospital team at various stages of organ recovery.

As a Training & Education Program Administrator, you'll advance our lifesaving mission by performing the following duties:

  • Develop, deliver, and administer a comprehensive organ donation and transplantation training program in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain relationships and consult with vested parties and subject matter experts (SMEs), ensuring educational programming supports initiatives aimed at increasing organ donation and transplantation.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to team members relating to individual accountability for knowledge, skills, abilities, and behaviors to meet job expectations aimed at maximizing donation during the referral.
  • Oversee operations and administration of all facets of curricula deployment
  • Collaborate with educational staff in other functional areas to ensure that efficiencies are realized and content design, development and delivery redundancy are mitigated.
  • Oversee Organ preceptors including managing application process for new preceptors, observing and coaching precepting practices, and providing continuing education.

This includes:

    • Defining educational requirements for onboarding, skills improvement, competency verification and process or procedure based on regulatory, partner and customer expectations.
    • Independently or collaboratively designing curricula and coursework using instructional systems designed to provide effective adult learning experiences such as developing course documents, learning objectives, course content, scenarios, practice activities, simulation experiences and post-test assessments utilizing the Learning Management System (LMS), as appropriate.
    • Incorporating adult learning principles when facilitating the delivery of educational programs in-person or virtual and/or in conjunction with subject matter experts (SMEs) and/or outside vendors.
    • Regularly engaging in observation, evaluation, on-the-job or simulation, to assess and document proficiency in job skills, techniques, and core competencies of all team members.
    • Supporting team member performance management through documentation of growth and development opportunities, recognition, and real time coaching and mentoring. 
    • Identifying innovative techniques, procedures, and areas for the improvement of all aspects of curriculum design. 
    • Maintaining skills and abilities to execute responsibilities for an organ donation case in accordance with the Organ Services team job descriptions.
    • Managing all scheduling, communications, document and version control associated with various curricula.
    • Coordinating all virtual and in-person events as it relates to scheduling venues, faculty, outside speakers/partners and technical requirements.
    • Maintaining all curricula assets, actual or virtual including manuals, guides, checklists, and websites and/or portals. 
    • Modeling and promoting a culture of accountability and service with team members.

        The curricula that are being designed and delivered include job specific on-boarding for clinical positions that include:

        • Donation Coordinator
        • Surgical Recovery Coordinator
        • Surgical Recovery Specialist
        • Preservation Specialist
        • Organ Utilization Coordinator
        • Organ Services Administrator

        QUALIFICATIONS

        • Requires a combination of education and experience equivalent to 7 years of experience in inpatient hospital and/or operating room experience.
        • Requires previous experience preparing and delivering training programs demonstrating knowledge of adult learning theory, program design, and program evaluation or assessment including competency for multi-media presentation delivery and other related technologies.
        • Experience creating simulation activities preferred.
        • Prefer professional previous experience within the organ, eye, or tissue donation industry.
        • Must maintain a valid driver license and have reliable personal automobile to be used with company reimbursement using IRS guidelines.
        • Must obtain a relevant certification in the procurement/transplant field within two (2) years of entry in the position. Once certified, you must obtain the required continuing education or recertification credits/process.
        • Public speaking skills are essential for facilitation of both in-person and remote forums with the proven ability to obtain pertinent information through observation or interview and translate it to a written training program.
        • Proven formal and/or informal leadership capabilities exhibiting strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to motivate peers, problem-solve and execute discretionary decision-making ability.
        • Must be organized, detail oriented, and have excellent critical thinking and analytical skills.
        • Demonstrated ability to provide a high level of customer service to internal and external customers with proficiency in the ability to develop and connect with people quickly.
        • Proven self-directed, motivated contributor with a strong initiative and ability to function autonomously, establish priorities and work effectively within a team environment.
        • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
        • Demonstrated ability to exhibit a high degree of quality, integrity, and honor confidentiality of appropriate information including, but not limited to, personal team member data, organizational operations or work processes, donor and donor family information, contributor details, any financial information and medical or protected health information (PHI) in accordance with HIPAA.
        • Proven skilled and competent in using technology-based devices and mobile tools such as personal computers and related software, electronic medical record systems, mobile phones, and mobile printing devices.

        WORKING CONDITIONS/SCHEDULE

        • Must be able to participate in an in office and on-call schedule, including working weekdays, weekends, nights, and holidays. Participates in Administrator On-Call rotation.
        • Hours: Primarily 8-hour-shifts with flex to accommodate training hours to align with trainee schedule 
        • Hybrid, based on office work and training needs
        • Must be able to travel within the service area (MN, ND, SD) by ground or air.
        • Affected team members in Category I are regularly exposed to bloodborne pathogens and have a potential for this exposure or handle materials that could spread infection (one or more potential opportunities per month). Additionally, they have regular interaction with staff in patient or donor areas in a hospital or clinic setting while performing their assigned job duties.
        • Frequently lift objects up to 50 pounds and carry short distances. Heavier objects should be lifted and transferred using team lifting.

        Projected offer rate range:  $85-105k, based on years of relevant experience and education.
