Full Job Description

Tiffany & Co.’s Sustainability team sets and oversees the sustainability strategy for the organization. The team acts as a Center of Excellence that tracks emerging issues, provides input and guidance to key internal functions, and sparks new commitments or initiatives to drive the company's leadership position in Sustainability. In addition, the team directly executes key areas such as climate, human rights, and philanthropy. The team also acts as a conduit and point of contact for engagement on Sustainability with key external stakeholders including investors and NGOs.

Traceability Specialist reports to the Manager, Product Traceability on the Global Sustainability & Philanthropy team to own and execute priorities and procedures related to Tiffany’s environmental, social and governance, sustainability initiatives. This role will support various aspects of sustainability programs including, but not limited to, raw material traceability, product traceability, responsible sourcing, supply chain transparency, reporting, communications, compliance, and social impact. 

Traceability and Supply Chain Transparency 

  • Support the Product Traceability, Manager on preparing digital presentation assets, maintaining timelines, and synthesizing deliverables & action items for Group-level responsible business committees.
  • Collaborate with Impact Measurement Specialist to deliver annual Traceability reporting as required by Tiffany & Co. and LVMH for all materials, aligning to Group priorities.
  • Establish and own stakeholder relationships (internal & external) to drive complete and on-time traceability data collection.
  • Oversee Tiffany & Co.’s supply chain transparency initiatives, partnering with internal sourcing teams. 
  • Partner on developing strategy & sourcing guidance for raw materials, inclusive of certification, traceability, and transparency, among others.
  • Contribute to technology (such as blockchain) development and implementation for raw material/product chain of custody and supply chain tracing.
  • Own project sprints within broader roadmaps, maintaining pace & timing, and problem-solving implementation challenges as they arise.
  • Keep informed of current global supply chain trends, technologies, and regulations, and anticipate risks material to the business. 
  • Identify, communicate, and escalate risks relevant to the business based on sourcing knowledge, global issues affecting trade, sanctions, and human rights.
  • Leverage expertise to innovate existing processes and protocols to drive traceability & transparency, efficiencies, and maintain best-in-class standing among peers.
  • Maintain an entrepreneurial spirit and contribute to strategic long-term vision.

Communications (external & internal)

  • Contribute synthesized KPIs and data for traceability and craft pillar for annual Sustainability Report.
  • Develop storytelling and narrative based on data trends and sustainability performance targets.
  • Own internal communications timeline, content development and approval process end-to-end, representing Sustainability with stakeholders such as Marketing, Design, and Legal.
  • Maintain a perspective on Tiffany’s role within the wider group and reinforce consistently through internal and external communications.
  • Support internal employee sustainability engagement initiatives.

Social Impact Programming

  • Advance Tiffany & Co.’s sustainability strategy and programs in social impact, across a range of areas, dependent upon the storytelling and marketing priorities of the business.
  • Support manager in developing business case for social impact programming, considering ROI, Tiffany & Co. near-term goals, and greater LVMH sustainability targets.
  • Represent the Sustainability & Philanthropy team in external working groups and government relations efforts, as needed, alongside other internal stakeholders (i.e. Responsible Sourcing, Gemstone Acquisition, etc.)

Administrative 

  • Perform administrative responsibilities, including maintaining well-organized team Shared Drive and Team files, processing invoices, and other duties as needed.
  • Assist with project coordination including scheduling, task management and meeting planning.

The hiring range for this position ranges from $75,000 - $90,000. The rate of pay offered will be dependent upon candidates’ relevant skills and experience.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum 1-3 years of relevant experience (Corporate Social Responsibility, Environmental Sciences, International Business, Responsible Supply Chain, NGO, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of current tools and trends in sustainability and the methods with which sustainability can be integrated into business operations
  • Ability to see trends and potential impacts and subsequently develop proactive plans and programs to minimize risk and impact to business
  • Must possess the ability to maintain and analyze substantial and complex data or information from multiple sources into key insights and relevant takeaways for lay audiences, in a clear and compelling manner
  • Must possess strong critical thinking and analytic skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work at both a technical and big-picture strategic level, including providing recommendations for business needs based on Sustainability lens
  • Experience being productive in a fast-paced team
  • Ability to lead and maintain success amid ambiguity
  • Exhibit strong time management, planning and organizational skills, be flexible to changes in deadlines and work focus, and be highly self-motivated and work independently in a highly matrixed environment
  • Demonstrated project management expertise, managing multiple stakeholder groups and complex projects
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills
  • Must be discrete due to exposure of highly confidential information
  • Must be a team player, have a positive mindset with a willingness to take on any range of work to ensure work to ensure the work gets done
  • Must be passionate about sustainability and corporate philanthropy
  • Global perspectives and international experience
  • Proactive, agile, self-reliant problem solver

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with high-profile consumer brands or luxury
  • Industry knowledge and experience in corporate social responsibility reporting or metrics data collection
  • Knowledge of raw material and/or jewelry certifications (RJC, etc.)
  • Experience working in database programs, including serving as a system administrator (SupplyShift, Sourcemaps, etc.)
