The Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) provides integrated outpatient mental health treatment services within the IIBHT program that are based on medical necessity and that support and promote mental health and wellness. QMHPs endeavor to a) Promote symptom reduction, resiliency, wellness, independence and safety for individuals and families receiving mental health services and supports; b) Specify standards for services and supports that are person-directed, client-guided, culturally competent, and trauma-informed and wellness informed; and c) Promote functional outcomes for individuals throughout a continuum of care that is developmentally appropriate.

QMHPs responsibilities are to engage and respond in crisis intervention; facilitate access for mental health treatment through Adapt, within the home or community, based on client preference; provide therapeutic interventions including informed consent, advocacy, and integrated care; assist with access to community resources; facilitate development and retention of natural and community supports; provide appropriate individual, group, and community psycho-education; actively work to reduce stigma, barriers, and to build a community foundation for success.

QMHPs adhere to the OAR's; agency standards and practices; and follow their board regarding ethics and standards of practice.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provides in-home and community-based treatment services through assessments and evaluations, individual and family treatment which promotes symptom reduction, resiliency, wellness, independence, and safety for individuals within the IIBHT program and supports through prescription of outpatient treatment services that are client-centered, trauma-informed, Evidenced-Based Best-Practices whenever possible; collaborates with clientele and in consultation with team; and completes Safety Plans for those individuals that are at risk.
  • Performs mental health assessment and intake process within three calendar days of authorization, follow the OAR-outlined entry and engagement rules, and lead the treatment team toward treatment goals.
  • Under the direction of the program supervisor, coordinates client admission process and treatment, skills training and support services, schedules admission interviews; develops and coordinates the initial assessment and initial treatment plan and provides clinical support in the development and implementation of the treatment plan for clients; consults, refers, and coordinates with agency partners and providers; coordinates discharge planning that includes supports and active planning for provision of continuity of care.
  • Performs many functions and treatment interventions to IIBHT clients including crisis intervention, eligibility, access, and enrollment services; provides individual and/or family therapy, provides case management services that enables clientele to obtain needed community and treatment services (e.g., substance use,medical); provides consultation and training for and with clients, staff, professionals, other services agencies and the public as needed.
  • Participates in administrative tasks related to meeting fidelity, such as documenting and tracking fidelity components, helps coordinate and organize community and agency education components, and contributes to developing ideas and strategies to improve the program.
  • Maintains and completes required records, reports, and documentation as required by departmental policy and state law.

Qualifications


Required Qualifications:

  • Must have a master's degree in Social Work, Counseling or Psychology. License is preferred.
  • Experience in a mental health setting is preferred.
  • At time of appointment, must possess valid Oregon driver's license.
