Yamaha has an excellent opportunity for a Tax Manager to join our team in Cypress, CA. Reporting to the Senior Tax Manager, the Tax Manager will provide leadership and direction to an experienced
group of tax professionals, and manages a wide breadth of technical responsibilities. The role requires
experience in establishing processes around income tax compliance requirements, as prescribed by the IRS and / or the FASB. Management of direct reports, including career development, technical training, and coaching, is also required. Day-to-day responsibilities will include the review, approval, and ensuring the timely and accurate filing of Federal and State income tax returns. The Tax Manager will be fully accountable to the Senior Tax Manager for effective maintenance of the tax filing calendar, and managing work assignments ahead of key deadlines. He or she will also provide a first review of quarterly and annual tax provision calculations and tax account reconciliations, and will identify and conduct research around complex tax issues and projects, as required. The Tax Manager will also communicate with taxing authorities, external auditors, internal Tax and Finance department contacts, and senior personnel throughout the organization, to support ongoing tax processes and procedures.
What you'll be doing:
- Reviews and provides secondary approval for Federal and State tax extensions,
returns, and estimated payments for YMUS divisions and subsidiaries, and YMC
affiliates where applicable; - Monitor all tax compliance requirements for YMUS divisions, subsidiaries, and
domestic affiliates; - Review and monitor monthly tax account reconciliations and internal financial reporting
obligations; - Research tax issues and lead special income tax projects, as assigned, and
communicate results; - Supervises one or more YMUS Tax Division professionals, including completion of
annual performance reviews, ongoing coaching, and career development; - Supports tax planning strategies, and the Advance Pricing Agreement and transfer
pricing processes
What you need to be successful:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting and / or finance
- MS-Tax / MBT or CPA preferred
- 5 - 7 years in either or combination of industry or Big 4 corporate income tax department, including supervision of direct reports
- Ability to develop and maintain an excellent working relationship with individuals at various levels and diverse backgrounds, within internal corporate departments, external auditors, and tax authorities, in order to efficiently meet timelines;
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of software applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, and
PowerPoint), Enterprise Resource Planning (“ERP”) systems (SAP or Oracle), and tax preparation
software (OneSource and Sage FAS); - Ability to be flexible to meet demanding deadlines and time schedules;
- Strong analytical, problem solving, and multi-tasking skills required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Pay Range:
- $85,400 - $150,310
