JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the Executive Director, Analytics & Operations, this role is primarily responsible for preparing competitive pricing proposals in response to school & activity bus RFPs in North America, and other sales related pricing requests that support the Blue Bird Sales and Marketing organization.
Additionally, the Strategic Pricing Analyst manages daily sales reports, maintains customer sales records, and performs other analytical assignments as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and prepare pricing proposals for school & activity bus RFPs in North America
- Maintain and enhance existing pricing models in conjunction with the Analytics team to improve win rates, drive volume and improve margins
- Support the Fleet team with the custom quote process for direct customers
- Identify and lead process improvement projects related to the current quote approval process through completion
- Analyze RFP and sales quote data to identify market trends and recommend pricing strategies based on current models
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders as necessary; regularly communicate with management and the Regional Sales team on pending quote and RFP activity
- Manage diverse assignments while simultaneously working within a deadline driven environment
- Perform other related duties as assigned
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Analytical Skills: ability to summarize complex data sets and provide actionable intel to drive long-term value
- Effective communication with the ability to communicate complex topics in a clear and concise manner to different audiences
- Attention to detail with high level of accuracy in execution
- Knowledge / Exposure to BI tools, Python, R and/or SQL
- Capable of managing confidential and proprietary information
- Strong knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Strong time management, organizational and record keeping skills
EDUCATION AND EXPEREINCE
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Data Science, Mathematics, Computer Science or any other related analytical field
- Minimum 2-3 years of relevant pricing, analytical, finance or consulting experience required
- Consistent track record of developing and implementing successful pricing strategies in a commercial role
- Strong technical skills in Excel and PowerPoint to build out proposals and business cases
- Strong knowledge in BI tools, i.e. Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, etc.
- CRM experience a plus, i.e. HubSpot or Salesforce
