Yamaha has an excellent opportunity for a Sr. Tax Manager to join our Tax team in Cypress, CA. The Senior Tax Manager will provide leadership and direction to an experienced group of tax professionals and manage a wide breadth of technical responsibilities.
What you’ll be doing:
- Reviews and approves Federal and State tax extensions, returns, and estimated payments for YMUS divisions and subsidiaries.
- Monitor all tax compliance requirements for YMUS divisions, subsidiaries, and domestic affiliates,
including emerging issues. - Reviews and approves quarterly and year-end income tax provision calculations, as required under
the provisions of ASC 740. - Review and monitor monthly tax account reconciliations and internal and external financial reporting obligations.
- Research tax issues as assigned and communicates results.
- Communicate with taxing authorities, external auditors, internal Tax and Finance department
contacts, and senior personnel throughout the organization, in support of ongoing tax processes and procedures. - Supervise staff of Tax Division professionals, including completion of annual performance reviews,
ongoing coaching, and career development. - Support tax planning strategies, and the Advance Pricing Agreement and transfer pricing processes.
- Other duties as assigned.
What you need to be successful:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, or Accounting and Finance
- MS-Tax or MBT strongly preferred
- CPA strongly preferred
- 10+ years in either or combination of industry or Big 4 corporate income tax department.
- Background in the management of direct reports, including career development, technical training,
and coaching required. - Experience in establishing processes around tax compliance requirements, as prescribed by the
IRS and / or the FASB. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to develop and maintain an excellent working relationship with individuals at various levels
and diverse backgrounds, within internal corporate departments, external auditors, and tax
authorities, to efficiently meet reporting and advisory deadlines. - Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of software applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, and
PowerPoint), Enterprise Resource Planning (“ERP”) systems (SAP or Oracle), and tax preparation
software (InSource or CCH Corp. Tax). - Ability to be flexible, and to meet demanding deadlines and time schedules
- Strong Analytical, problem solving, and multi-taxing skills required.

Pay Range: 115,600 TO 216,170
