As a direct report to the HRD of Animal Health, the Senior Associate Director, HR Operations - AH is instrumental in translating and executing the U.S. Animal Health HR strategy. This position takes the lead on prioritized initiatives and projects across the U.S. Animal Health division, HR COE initiatives, and OPU initiatives.

The SR AD, HR Operations - AH is charged with the design of the HR KPI metrics dashboard, spearheading the monthly discussions within the Animal Health HR Leadership team, and overseeing a people analytics resource that bolsters the U.S. Animal Health business. Moreover, this role directs the SPC workforce planning, outlook processes, and the associated monthly reporting.

As the primary contact for the HR COE shared services, this role manages services related to Compensation, Benefits & Wellness, Global Mobility, Analytics, HR Compliance, Employee Relations, and LOA. It also steers the governance processes for all received shared HR services. In addition, the Sr. AD, HR Operations - AH serves as the central escalation point for AH in the U.S.

As a core member of the U.S. AH HR Leadership team, the Sr. AD, HR Operations plays a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of the department.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Holds the strategic ownership of the design and management of the AH HR KPI dashboard, which undergoes review by the AH HR Leadership team monthly.
  • Identifies and addresses concerning trends, and actively collaborates with the HR KPI owner to develop and oversee the execution of action plans.
  • As a key member of the U.S. AH HR Leadership Team, contributes significantly to the strategic direction of the team.
  • Takes the helm in managing and leading prioritized initiatives and projects across the U.S. Animal Health business, HR COE initiatives, and OPU initiatives.
  • Serves as the strategic project manager for key initiatives as assigned, ensuring the successful implementation of these projects.
  • Ensures the execution of appropriate change management strategies and communication plans, reinforcing the role's commitment to effective leadership and strategic oversight.
  • Spearheads and provides guidance for the SPC workforce planning for U.S. AH, working closely with the HRBPs to ensure alignment with overall business objectives.
  • Holds the ownership of the consolidation of the SPC outlook processes, demonstrating a commitment to operational efficiency.
  • Performs monthly SPC and personnel cost tracking and analysis, providing valuable insights that inform decision-making at the highest levels.
  • Manages and serves as the primary contact for HR COE shared services concerning Compensation, Benefits & Wellness, Global Mobility, Analytics, HR Compliance, Employee Relations, and LOA.
  • Oversees the governance processes for all shared HR services received. If certain topics within these subject matters are not covered or owned by the shared service organization, this role assumes responsibility for these topics within AH U.S.
  • This role is critical in ensuring effective communication of shared HR services to AH U.S. leaders and employees.
  • Assumes comprehensive ownership of all AH local HR compliance and HR policy matters across all Animal Health sites in the U.S. This strategic ownership is executed in close collaboration with the U.S. HR Compliance shared service, reflecting the Sr. AD, HR Operation's commitment to fostering cross-functional partnerships. The role in this context is pivotal in ensuring adherence to HR policies and maintaining a high standard of HR compliance across the organization.
  • Entrusted with the critical responsibility of creating and managing HR updates and presentations for key and strategic stakeholders, including the AH CMC, AH Board, and during the Annual Discussion.
  • Not only showcases leadership in managing these crucial communications but also demonstrates strategic acumen in shaping the narrative for these influential stakeholders. The Sr. AD, HR Operation's role in this context is instrumental in ensuring that all stakeholders are well-informed and aligned with the organization's HR strategies and updates.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Ten-plus (10+) years of progressive HR and/or relevant Business experience.
  • Prior knowledge in Benefits, Compensation, HR Compliance strongly preferred.
  • Requires a strong ethical framework, discretion, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Strong financial acumen and proven analytical skills.
  • Experience in leading projects, programs and change management initiates and best practices.
  • Proven results in completing process improvements with measurable results.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead strategically.
  • Work effectively cross-functionally and globally with strong problem solving and communication/negotiation skills.
  • Presentation skills for executive mgt., training, and facilitation of strategic planning meetings.
  • Strong business acumen and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership, and coordination of people and resources.
  • Results-oriented with the ability to analyze information and evaluate results and present complicated information clearly both orally and written to choose the best solution and solve problems.
  • Proven experience in leading, mentoring, motivating and coaching others.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels across the organization including globally.
  • Must be a strategic thinker and motivator and understands what delivers true value to the business function.

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
  • Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required).
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
