The Shipping Lead is an essential linkage in the material management process by ensuring all shipments are processed in a safe and efficient manner. Following a proven, meticulous process, the Shipping Lead ensures the Shipping Department has what they need to be successful. They aid in the management of vendor shipments to send manufactured items out for vendor services, as well as customer shipments to ship out final completed projects to customers in adherence with all contractual requirements. The Shipping Lead is responsible for providing organization of all shipping priorities to ensure accurate and efficient execution of shipping requests. They are responsible for providing support to the Shipping Supervisor to ensure effective delegation of work assignments across the team. This includes the ability to report out statuses of each assignment and tracking of all priority items to properly communicate to all internal stakeholders.



Success Criteria



The Shipping Lead is responsible for the efficient coordination of all items needing to be shipped. The Shipping Lead ensures that material is properly gathered and identified using required tagging and labeling standards, packaged according to contractual and business standards, and scheduled for pickup through the appropriate logistics channels. They are responsible for ensuring all items are processed in a timely manner to keep projects on track. The Shipping Lead is responsible for both ensuring the team has what they need to be successful, as well as executing shipments as needed.



Business success cannot happen without the Shipping Lead accurately and efficiently supplying the needed product to our vendors and customers. Requirements include the ability to read and understand contracts, build structurally sound crates, package items to prevent damage during transit (i.e. proper use of dunnage, strapping etc.), ensure proper preservation standards are followed for all items, and the ability to safely load items onto trucks, including the use of a forklift or overhead crane. Strong communication skills are essential to ensure effective collaboration and proper relaying of information. Attention to detail is critical in this role to maintain accurate records in a fast-paced environment.



Sailing to success starts with having experience working in shipping or warehousing at a manufacturing company for heavy equipment. Familiarity with US Navy heavy machinery or complex structural parts could accelerate your path to leveling up with PAR.

* High School diploma or equivalent
* Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license
* Must be able to pass a DOT Physical
* Ability to operate warehouse equipment such as a forklift
* Ability to read a tape measure and work with power tools such as a saw, nail gun, drill
* Must have good written and oral communication skills
* Computer Skills (MS Office including Excel, electronic scanning of documents, warehousing software etc)
* Familiarity with various shipping modes (parcel, LTL, FTL, Flatbeds)
* Attention to detail and accuracy
* Strong communication skills and organizational skills
* Safety-conscious mindset
* Ability to complete work that may involve lifting, bending, reaching, carrying, climbing and prolonged standing
* Ability to function within working conditions and physical requirements described below


* Exposure to various extreme weather conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, vibration, and loud noise levels
* Regularly required to use hands and arms to handle or reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, stand, walk, and lift/move up to 50lbs or more
* RF gun/barcode scanning experience (Preferred)
* Forklift experience (Preferred)
* Overhead crane experience (Preferred)
