Apex Systems is seeking a Sr Financial Analyst to support one of our Fortune 500 manufacturer clients. This position is fully onsite in Hagerstown, MD.

Position: Sr Financial Analyst
Location: Fully onsite in Hagerstown, MD
Hours: Regular business hours
Compensation: $80,000-$90,000/yr + 8% bonus & full benefits
Job type: Full time position, direct hire
The Sr. Financial Analyst will work closely with the Director of Operations Finance. This individual will be seen as the Head of Finance for this specific plant. It will be vital for this individual to build relationships with team members throughout the entire plant. It will be common for this Sr. Financial Analyst to be walking the plant floor to better understand the production flow of the plant.
Responsibilities are tied to supporting the monthly forecast cycle:
- On the front end of the cycle, the responsibilities will include forecasting of budgets as well as spend allocation.
- Next, this individual would be responsible for the analysis of Current Month Actuals.
- The accounting requirements will be handled by the Controller but the Sr. Financial Analyst will finalize the forecast by reviewing with leadership.
- Lastly, the back half of the cycle will consist of project driven analysis around difference existential impacts on the Plant financially.
- This role will be heavily cost focused when it comes to analyzing financials and accounting documents.
- Assist in the preparation of the "bottom-up" monthly forecast and annual budget.
- Perform detailed analyses to identify, analyze, understand, and monitor the Companys key performance indicators.
- Create ad hoc reports to evaluate business trends and identify impact versus forecast and budget.
- Evaluate daily and weekly metrics and take action to ensure favorable results to plan by month-end.
- Proactively assist in developing projects to identify opportunities for forecast accuracy improvement, cost savings / profit enhancement, and efficiency improvement.
- Support the ongoing maintenance and evolution of the planning processes, including compiling and reporting results, and understanding / explaining points of variance.
- Assist in the preparation of the weekly and monthly management reporting packages.
- Effectively work with other functional departments to ensure that their departmental expense will not exceed forecasted targets.
- Support strategic planning and decision making by identifying trends in product, market segments, and key customers.
- Responsible for enforcing financial policies and attain controls where financial policies lack structure.
What Youll Need (Qualifications):
- Bachelors degree in finance, economics, or accounting.
- 4+ years of related experience
- Strong technical skills and knowledge of the P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flows from "bottom-up".
