This Contract Manager will develop winning strategies to close profitable orders for the North America Valves division. In this role, you will engage multifunctional teams to implement the commercial strategy for new equipment orders. As a critical member of the Valves Inquiry to Order (ITO) team the Contract Risk Manager will help deliver the best commercial solution for our customers, including winning proposals that achieve appropriate risk and reward levels for Baker Hughes.
As the Senior Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Developing proposals; negotiate with customers; ensure deals deliver shareholder value; drive competitive pricing. May include compiling and submitting required tender documentation.
- Managing Terms & Conditions assessment and drive contract negotiations to resolution, from bid negotiation phase through contract award handoff to order execution team, interfacing with customers, legal, and other functions.
- Managing complex sales and deal strategy processes requiring involvement of many stakeholders both at the client side and internally.
- Developing and maintaining customer and sales relationships, visiting customer sites to support order generating sales activities.
- Managing opportunities in Deal Machine (customer relationship management "CRM" tool) and process orders.
- Ensuring all deviations from standard Terms & Conditions are properly evaluated, mitigated and approved by the responsible functions.
- Continuously reviewing deal dispositions and lead lessons-learned, implementing continuous improvement projects to improve competitiveness, win-rate and market share.
- Partnering with the sales team to increase orders volume, attend weekly sales meeting, report proposal status and handle important business unit clients.
Fuel your passion
To be successful in this role you will:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college and 5+yrs of related experience in Proposals , Contract Negotiations, Commercial Sales Strategies, or similar.
- Experienced in bid preparation and contract negotiations for oil and gas, power, and/or valve customers.
- Proficient skillset in redlining and negotiating contractual terms and conditions.
- Experience working on both large capital projects and lower value transactional products.
- Be self-motivated and work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to construct contractual terms and conditions while minimizing risk; displays knowledge of business implications of legal and commercial concepts; well versed in risk management, project management, and negotiation strategies.
