SCS Corporate Security Team Leader
This position will report to the SCS Vice President of Corporate Security and have first-line supervisor responsibility for leadership and oversight of the Corporate Security Uniform Security team of armed security staff at the Southern Company Headquarters.
The Security Team Leader must have the flexibility to support the physical security needs of the operation which runs 24/7/365. This position may require work hours that include nights, weekends, and holidays.
The SCS Corporate Security Team is responsible for providing unarmed and armed, physical security and life safety protection for all employees, visitors, contractors, and guests at critical facilities all over the state.
The SCS Corporate Security Team is also responsible for access control, monitoring of networked physical security systems and technologies, emergency response and crisis management efforts, as well as ensuring compliance with applicable security regulations at their location(s).

JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 3 - 5 years of experience in security (law enforcement, military, corporate security, etc) is required
- Strong leadership skills, leadership mindset. Life-long learner devoted to continuous growth as a leader, wise application, and practice of leadership.
- Significant demonstrated experience in criminal justice, corporate security, law enforcement or military required.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills (ability to effectively communicate at all levels, both oral and written).
- Demonstrated exceptional project management skills.
- Ability to build and maintain positive, professional relationships with peers, employees, customers, and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency with access control and electronic security systems.
- Ability to effectively lead and provide on the job training to security officers.
- Technical proficiency with CCURE 9000 Monitoring and Administration capabilities and Avigilon video management systems is preferred.
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of GPC Corporate Security’s policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Ability to work under high stress and frequently shifting priorities with an appropriate degree of urgency while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
- Appropriately manage, protect, store, and transmit sensitive information.
- Work independently to achieve results with little supervision.
- Effectively perform assigned responsibilities, manage incidents, direct others with minimal supervision.
- Maintains compliance with the Georgia Secretary of State Security License and have demonstrated ability to safely use, maintain, and qualify with issued firearm.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide leadership, and oversight to the Corporate Security team of armed/unarmed, uniformed Corporate Security staff at each location.
- Enforces all Corporate Security policies, procedures, and post orders. Ensure post orders are reviewed and updated annually for each site.
- Primary point of contact for the unarmed security contract company and Corporate Security.
- Ensure all security posts are staffed and equipped to prevent unauthorized personnel and contraband from entering the campus.
- Manage all contract security staffed at each location, to include conducting uniform inspections, ensuring all posts are staffed according to contracted terms, verifying hours worked align with hours billed, incident reporting and tracking.
- Manage training on all emergency response procedures, fire notifier systems, access control and CCTV; to include security system upgrades or enhancements to officers at each location.
- Assist in maintaining positive liaison with leadership on each staffed site, to include facilities, as well as local law enforcement and emergency first responders.
- Ensure continuous strategic and operational alignment with the expectations of the Corporate Security Management, as well as all internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain proficiency with critical thinking skills to identify and assess suspicious activity, intelligence, and security incidents at company facilities.
- Manages multiple priorities and projects with consistent results.
