BAE Systems is seeking a senior level Safety Specialist to support at its site in Radford, Virginia. In this role as a Safety Specialist, you will be instrumental in supporting the site Safety programs.

Included responsibilities:

Demonstrate a strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations.
Work hand-in-hand with the operating units and maintenance to achieve 100% compliance.
Pro-actively identify safety issues.
Strive to minimize recordable injury rates by working collaboratively and closely with the SHE department and the entire Radford site.
Work with a variety of safety related programs (LO/TO, Confined Space, hotwork, electrical, guarding, walking surfaces, risk assessment, DoD Regs for ARMY Contractors, etc.).
Help disseminate the knowledge to the Radford team.

Note: This position supports 100% on site.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree in a Safety related discipline with four (4) years of related experience, or the overall equivalent experience.
Well versed in safety regulations, particularly OSHA.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to effectively disseminate information to a diverse population of employees.
Computer skills to include Microsoft Office Suite and industry-related software applications.
Able to support on-site, "boots on the ground."

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

Experience in a chemical manufacturing environment a plus!

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $73778 - $125422

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
